I also hope Funimation picks this up for a Blu-ray release. But in my opinion. I think Funimation is going to come out with a special box or something that includes the Jump special, Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans Remake,Episode of Bardock, and this. called ''Never before seen specials!'' well maybe not exactly like that but I do think that's going to happen. (Nobody say anything different or you'll hurt my feelings. let me live in this fantasy )

Well, until Toei Animation decides to dust off their celluloid sheets and paint brushes, we won't be getting any old school animation as seen in the original TV series back in the day. The main issue is animators. Not too many of the series' original animators are still around these days. The veterans can only do so much to cover all the young talent, so it just is what it is.

A lot of people are hyping this movie as if it's the first Dragonball film in a long time. But, Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!! came out in 2008 (and sucked).

I hate everything in the story after the Androids/Cell arc, but hopefully this will be better than the last film. Hoping for an official English dub, too.

This is the first Dragon Ball film in a long time. Anyway, I absolutely adored the 2008 Jump special, which was not an actual theatrical film btw. The Vegeta and Goku interactions, seeing everyone fight again, I really enjoyed it. The Boo arc happens to be one of my favorite parts of the entire series. This is an unpopular opinion I know, but I never loathed it the way some fans seam to. Sure, the controversy surrounding the battle powers stirred the worldwide Dragon Ball fandom into so many meaningless debates it's insane. Although to me, this helps add a little mystery to the latter part of the series, and gives us incentive to discuss it to no end.

One thing that is for sure, this new movie should rock our socks off. I cannot wait to know the plot. Thank you Toriyama-sensei, for writing more Dragon Ball. You've have made millions of people very happy.

I am very anxious to see some clip of the movie soon. I am not an expert in drawing, but I think all the promotional material (Posters and this newly released teaser) gives off a OVA special vibe instead of a theatrical looking product. I doubt what Toei, and the other partners involved, are showing is the final animation of the Dragon ball Z movie characters.

Also, I understand that they couldn't show much animation from the actual movie (what with it not being done yet), but if you're going to use stock footage from old theatrical films, why pick the 10th anniversary movie? Evolution in much more recent.

Most of the ace veterans aren't even producing the level of work they used to, anyway. Tate Naoki and Shida Naotoshi are the only ones who have really improved since the first three series' ended. Even then, trying to copy the older styles is a pretty low bar to set when animation these days has evolved to such a great degree.

I hear the Lion King work in 3D very well in 3D? I can imagine that they would do the same for this film since nearly everything has been in 3D since 2010.

Heh didn't know that they made lion king in 3D. I just can't imagine how that looks.

They did re-release the Lion King in 3D last year and Beauty and the Beast was also re-release in 3D earlier this year as well. From what I've been told that the 2D animation look really good in 3D. I can imagine that they can work it out the 3D for this film as well.

I have this on Blu-ray [Manga UK Edt.] but watched the 2D version, wasn't really that great and neither was it in HD as rather an upscale.

3D's just another way of milking people in theatres. I'm perfectly happy with 2D.

Just concentrate on making this great and leave the gimmicks for last.
