Seems to be mark against their quality control, then. If they're not using altered French dub names for the characters, why use them for other things? Especially when "Scouter" is already an English word even in the original Japanese version...

Maybe they decided to make him more like the actual Yamcha.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Gohan was no different when Dodoria chased them....
Except that he was six.
Sure, except when he knew how huge Freeza and his men's Ki are, but he stepped in anyway knowing the huge risk that could have killed him.

Is it just me, or does Yamcha look too cartoony and comical in that latest page? His buddy just died, yet he looks like Mr. Satan hiding behind a rock. I don't have a problem with Yamcha running away from a fight he just can't win (that's smart, not cowardly), but the art should convey how dire the situation is. Eh, maybe I'm nitpicking.

I wouldn't call that an example of "bravery". He just snapped, as he often does.

So, any explanation as to Kuririn and Roshi's whereabouts? Chaozu and Yajirobe not being there is understandable, but I thought this Kakarot said that he killed the Krillin in this universe? I guess maybe one of them might prolong Yamcha's death on the next page by blocking Raditz' blast.

They're probably already dead. I'm assuming Kakarotto will end up inadvertently saving Yamcha by attacking his brother. Something new and powerful to play with after all...

I think Kakarot's gonna attack unprepared Yamcha and settle with him once and for all...

Yeah my first thought was that he looks like a character from the early DB parts rather than DBZ. Raditz also has a very big head in the second panel.

Sure he did. The Dodoria example, you ironically mentioned in a later post, shows it.

That's the only instance, but they weren't even in the middle of a battle like the other times. Also, they had to get Dende the fuck out of there, and they didn't know if he could fly.

Technically not, since he's a Saiyan and Yamucha is a Human...but...still a bit creepy, yeah.

I honestly don't know what to say about this page. Don't get me wrong here, I love it, I just don't have a joke prepared for "Yum Tender Flesh..." and Kakarotto's apparent cannibalism.

Technically, it's no different than eating bug people like what Vegeta did. Earthlings are not saiyans so it is not cannibalism at all; Saiyans are of a different species.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Exactly. That's all I meant was that by definition, it's not cannibalism. It's still kind of creepy to imagine though.

Makes sense, and what the heck do you think they eat when they are giant apes? Saiyns aren't played off as pleasent folk.

It may not be technically cannibalism but since Earthlings and Saiyans are humanoid so it's kind of like eating your own.
