Funnily enough, Nadolny actually did have some potential to portray a somewhat better Gohan.

There was a flashback montage of Master Roshi telling everyone about the Tenkaichi Budokai after Cell had announced the Cell Games and in the original English dub it showed Nadolny portraying a much lighter voice on Kid Goku which might have worked on Kid Gohan.

I would post a clip but I only have that episode on VHS.

Eh... I recall some TERRIBLE acting from her though during the Cell arc... Like, moments when Gohan was in shock or whatever resulted in him doing this terrible "Uh uh uh uh uh uh" kind of noise.

For me, after hearing her as Gohan since episode 1 of Kai, she sounded fine to me in those episodes. I don't get your point.

Yeah, IMO, while Clinkenbeard is better for Kid Gohan, Nadolny is better for Kid Goku.

I also didn't want Nadolny back. Out of all the Funi DB voice actors, I thought she was one of the worst. I really did like Colleen Clinkenbeard better as Gohan. I just think her voice and acting captured Gohan's gentle and timid attitude a lot better than Nadolny ever did. Nadolny tried to make him sound too conditioned and tough.

Also after VA's contracts with FUNI end, there's nothing saying that FUNI has to bring them back.
I did hear a rumor that Nadolny was touring because I believe both her and Meridith Macoy (18) are in bands.

Linda Young (Z dub Freeza) was only brought back for minor roles (Baba and Mr. Satan's bitch in the Cell Arc).

Don't ask me about Tiffany Volmer, I have no idea. But I didn't mind the switch to Monica Rail.

Yeah, IMO, while Clinkenbeard is better for Kid Gohan, Nadolny is better for Kid Goku.

Clinkenbeard for me is good as Kid Goku in terms of how he sounds innocent and naive. Nadolny is good too but the rasp is questionable at best for me.

Oh god, I just know I`m gonna get hated for this, but here goes:
I was really disappointing when i found out that Nadolny was not coming back for Gohan and Kid Goku.
I actually enjoy Nadolny as both Gohan and Goku. I think she does a good job. Not perfect, but not bad!
I feel that, even though the voice she did for Gohan in the beginning episodes was a bit gruff, her Cell games Gohan is better than Coleen`s Cell Games Gohan IN MY OPINION! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!
I also feel that she did a much better job as Kid Goku, because Coleen`s Goke sounded too much like Gohan both in voice and in acting.
Also, for some of the examples of the bad acting that you guys mentioned, don`t you think some of those are not because of the Actor, but because of the director and the script?

If you want to get technical, Nadolny's Goku and Gohan were practically the same voice. Same with Nozawa's only there were differences (often subtle ones).

Nozawa's young Goku and young Gohan may have been in the same rough range, but they spoke with completely different mannerisms -- both of which carried forward into their adult lives, so no matter who's talking at which age, it's impossible to NOT be able to tell who's speaking (so long as you're, ya' know, listening... ^_~).

True but mannerisms aside the similarity in pitch and whatnot are there

I wouldn't have minded if Nadolny came back. Her performances in the videogames showed the same gradual but noticeable improvements that the rest of the cast showed. There's no way you can't improve after playing a character for 10+ years, I think. Having said that, I liked Clinkenbeard's performance. I'm content with either actress playing Gohan.

Well, even though the sound of Kaio still is kind of... well, its horrible, but the acting has improved greatly!
I never had a problem with Chichi, so i wont get into an arguement.

*Shrugs.* Well, I do think they've improved. Opinions on whether they've improved enough will vary from fan to fan, but I personally wouldn't agree that their Kai performances and their "Season 3" performances are interchangeable.

I never seriously minded Cranz's voice as Chi-Chi but Sean Schemmel's Kaio did improve even though I still think he should tone down the lisp it.

I think Colleen Clinkenbeard is the best choice out of Funimation's current VA pool to voice the Son males, because, well, she voices Monkey D. Luffy. Stretchy-pirate Goku.

And, as a matter of fact, I have heard young boys (some even as old as 12) that sound a lot like her Gohan, so I really don't see how she doesn't sound like a boy at all. She's much closer than Nadolny, at least.

I also liked Colleen's #18 as well, though I think Meredith McCoy's #18 is also very good. They both just play up different aspects, and they both work.

The only replacement actor I really dislike is the new Oolong. It's even worse than Brad Jackson's Brooklyn Oolong.

Come to think of it, I have to wonder who all would replace actors from Dragon Ball. Like, who would voice Lunch? Would someone else take over as the younger Chi-Chi?

Taking Clinkenbeard's performance as Goku in "Curse of the Blood Rubies" into account, it is kinda funny--and cool--that one actress ended up playing both the most iconic "Shonen series" character of all time (Goku) and the second-most iconic "Shonen series" character of all time (Luffy).
