Explain this to me

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

There's a simple explanation. As Toriyama has said, bodies have limits while ki does not.

Goku's body probably reached its limit in raw physical strength at (example) 33 tons. That's the whole reason why he has a transformation. A transformation is an alteration to the physical body. The transformation causes the increase in ki, not the other way around.

Also there's the fact that Goku was flying, he was not getting leverage by bracing himself off of the ground or a solid surface. Normally for you, lifting (example) 10 lbs is no problem, but try doing that when you're in the air. Even for someone who's fit, lifting a small amount like that is nearly impossible if there's nothing to get any leverage on.
I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

At the end of the day, what it ultimately comes down to is a man who likes poop jokes writing a weekly serialization and not thinking nearly as deeply about it as his fans. Toriyama doesn't think so deeply about these things, he doesn't sit there and do math, he just picks numbers like "40 tons" out of the air.

There's contradictions all around. For example, at a Battle Power of 8,000, Goku is able to travel the entirety of Serpentine Road in what appears to be about a day and a half. Taking into account the fact that Serpentine Road is 1 million Kilometers long, that equates to 621,371 miles. If we go along with the assumption that Goku took exactly a day and a half (36 hours) to run Serpentine Road, that means Goku traveled it at a speed of 17,260 MPH. Taking into consideration the fact that there's no way Goku was running at his maximum speed for the entire 36 hours, we can assume that Goku's maximum speed in quick bursts is much higher than 17,260 MPH.

Yet despite this, we have instances that it's clear that Goku is not moving at that speed. For example, when chasing down Nappa who was about to attack Gohan and Kuririn, at a speed of 17,260 MPH, Goku would be able to do from the sky to the ground in far less time than it would take to merely say "Kaio-ken" alone. Why was Goku able to have dialogue though despite this? Because it's a Manga and Toriyama as a writer needed to create suspense and/or drama.

While it's fun to analyze and state your opinions on things, at the end of the day, they're just opinions and/or "Head Canon". What I'm getting is, some fans take things to the next degree and at times lose sight of the greater picture.

Uranai Baba was there in the anime.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
