Wow other than the bottom left corner that DBOX vol 2 is in great condition I wish I could buy a sealed one at a reasonable price but with the way things are looking right now that may never happen.Kaizoku-Replicant wrote:here are the pics, let me know what you guys think of the condition

If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out.

Hopefully Funimation will see the demand for them and re-release them.superrayman3 wrote:Wow other than the bottom left corner that DBOX vol 2 is in great condition I wish I could buy a sealed one at a reasonable price but with the way things are looking right now that may never happen.Kaizoku-Replicant wrote:here are the pics, let me know what you guys think of the condition

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

If FUNimation hasn't done it by now they probably won't, even when the demand is there FUNi does whatever they want.samuraix123 wrote:Hopefully Funimation will see the demand for them and re-release them.

Yeah true..But one can hope. Black Lagoon went out of print, and it doesn't have a fan-base like Dragonball and they decided to Re-release it on DVD/Blu-ray that comes out this year.superrayman3 wrote:If FUNimation hasn't done it by now they probably won't, even when the demand is there FUNi does whatever they want.samuraix123 wrote:Hopefully Funimation will see the demand for them and re-release them.

Damn, I settled too low! I sold my box 2 a month or so ago for around $225. Can't even move my box 1 lol.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I disagree. While it is not the ideal situation for the people who want that product at this moment, it is in FUNimation's best interest to let that demand grow. Ever since the first season set came out, there was a constant release of DBZ on the shelves from the season sets to the Dragon Boxes and then immediately into Blu-rays.superrayman3 wrote:If FUNimation hasn't done it by now they probably won't, even when the demand is there FUNi does whatever they want.samuraix123 wrote:Hopefully Funimation will see the demand for them and re-release them.
If sales of the Levels were part of the reason for the Blu-rays being placed "on hold" you just need to look back a few months from that release and you will see Dragon Box 7 had just hit shelves and that's not even factoring in Kai!
Simply put, there was just DBZ overload and I doubt even the most "hardcore" fan was going to just jump into the Blu-rays when they had already completed their collection with the Dragon Boxes. In fact, with the Blu-rays using the FUNimation title cards and lack of the next episode previews, odds are that many of them would have thumbed their nose up at them and decided to wait for Toei to follow suit.
So, did FUNimation really "cancel" the Levels or are they just keeping their cards close to their chest while they complete the project and release them when the consumers are itching to buy the series in HD? As great as a Dragon Box re-release would be, it could only eat into potential sales for a relaunched/resumed Blu-ray release.
The bottom line is FUNimation is a business, they aren't an evil corporation keeping DBZ from the masses because they get a kick out of it, because I don't see Toei rushing to put DBZ out on Blu-ray. Patience... it will come, just give it time.
That's $225 you wouldn't have if you hadn't sold it and you likely made a significant profit in any event, so I wouldn't say that was "too low."Onikage725 wrote:Damn, I settled too low! I sold my box 2 a month or so ago for around $225.

OutlawTorn that's a really good point you made and I agree with you. while ''for me'' the release of the Dragon-boxes didn't cloud my feelings on buying the level sets. I love them. but I can see how the average consumer would think ''I Just got through buying the orange bricks, Kai and some of the Dragon-boxes now they're releasing the Blu-rays?''

For the most part your right but people who remember a "certain little incident" a few years ago, probably do think that FUNimation is an evil corporation that likes to keep DBZ from the masses because they get a kick out of it.OutlawTorn wrote:The bottom line is FUNimation is a business, they aren't an evil corporation keeping DBZ from the masses because they get a kick out of it

Yes I didn't want to pour salt on an old wound for the ones here who actually invested in them so I decided to just reference the UUE's without actually saying the UUE name.samuraix123 wrote:You're speaking about the ultimate uncut edition's?

I remember it very well. I bought some of the DVD's and then they got canceled then when the level sets got canceled I felt really aggravated again. but we better get back on topic.superrayman3 wrote:Yes I didn't want to pour salt on an old wound for the ones here who actually invested in them so I decided to just reference the UUE's without actually saying the UUE name.samuraix123 wrote:You're speaking about the ultimate uncut edition's?

Re: Dragon Box Z 2 for $500?!
FUNimation's Dragon Box Z boxes were a limited edition collection and now that they've discontinued chances are really low for a re-print of Dragon Box Z 2.
Kind of like hoping for FUNimation to re-release DBZ's Saiyan saga all on Blu-ray (001-039).

Re: Dragon Box Z 2 for $500?!
Wow some of those prices are just ridiculous!!
If there is anyone on these forums from Canada in the GTA i know where you can get dragonbox 1,2,3 for it's original retail price.
When I got my dragonbox collection about a month ago, I emailed and called everywhere around the GTA and I found quite a few dbox 1,3 an only two dbox 2. Obviously the other one is safely on my shelf at home lol. Hmmm I don't know about the US or anywhere else but I was pretty fortunate to find them all for retail or cheaper with alittle research and time.

$500.00? I've seen one sell for $710.00!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dragon-Ball-Z-D ... 416a63b88d
You can actually buy all of DB, DBZ, DBGT, all the movies and TV specials for less than a DragonBox 2. What the hell?!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dragon-Ball-Dra ... 4d047416e0
Edit: That "complete set" seems to be missing DB movie 1. But still!

Re: Dragon Box Z 2 for $500?!
Alright so i think i'll put it up on ebay twice, the first time at a buy it now option with a similar price to what everyone else on ebay is asking for, the whole reason i want to sell it in the first place is to raise the money i need, so selling it for really cheap is kind of pointless, i would rather just keep it if i can't get what i'm looking for. If after the 7 days no one has bought it then i will list it again as an auction and see where it goes from there. I know a lot of you guys think it's greedy and outrageous to expect a high amount but i would be stupid to not try and get what others have gotten for it on ebay.

They're not worth any more than $70. Whoever pays more is out of their mind.
