I didn't find any new Dragon Ball 2012 game on Amazon.co.jp for pre-order (neither DBZ Budokai HD or DBZ For Kinect) so Japan might not really be getting another DBZ game this year.

I thought the game was going to be released in Japan and with the Synthesized Kikuchi music, well, guess not.

Was it really that hard? I played Budokai 3 last year and unlocked both of them in my first time playing Dragon Arena.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

It took me a few days to get the Saibaman, and a few hours to get the Cell jr. for my first attempt.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Wait, really? Why hasn't it worked after I've put so many hours in it? :x I guess I was doing something wrong.

I believe it had to be Omega Shenron.

I don't know if this has been pointed out already but....

Well that really sucks for anyone wanting to hear the Japanese voices in Budokai 1's cut scenes.

I wonder where VegettoEX saw English voiceover cast only.

Anyway, kinda sucks there's no online mode for this game because I'd be willing to play online.

Amazon listing:
DBZ Budokai HD Collection @ Amazon wrote:
  • Face off with up to 23 mighty DBZ warriors in Budokai 1 and over 40 characters from Dragon Ball, DBZ & Dragon Ball GT in Budokai 3.
  • 60 moves per character including Kamehameha in Budokai 1 and customize your DBZ warrior & build the ultimate fighter in Budokai 3.
  • Follow the DBZ animated series from Sayan Saga to Android Saga in Budokai 1.
  • Saiyan Overdrive Fighting System brings the speed, cinematic attacks & combos, airborne acrobatics & intensity of the DBZ anime in Budokai 3.
  • Includes the authentic English voiceover cast in Budokai 1 and the authentic English & Japanese voiceover cast in Budokai 3.
I've seen that other description before, too, so I'm very confused. Will have to get clarification on that.

I guess only time will tell. I hope that isn't the case for anyone buying this, hoping for some Budokai 1 JPN cutscenes.

The American DB games in the past were English dub-only whereas the PAL featured the Japanese audio, so they might be going to the same old story again for the US release.

They've been including japanese voices with DBZ games since Budokai 3 Greatest Hits version. I don't see why they would exclude from this new HD release. I do want to hear the japanese cast in Budokai 1, but I'm looking forward to the english voice cast too. I feel Funimation tried much harder in the video games back then, than the crappy job they've been doing lately.

I feel the same too, which is funny considering that their dub of the show has gotten better over the years, where as their dub of the games has gotten worse.

If this really does lack the Japanese voice cast in Budokai 1, then I probably won't get this at all.

Same here, Japanese voices in Budokai 1 were really the only thing that was making me think "Okay, maybe I'll get this eventually." Without that there's nothing I'd get out of this release that I couldn't by just playing my old PS2 copies. I even have the proper Greatest Hits version of Budokai 3 that they apparently aren't using for the port.

Just found this on Australia's EB games website.

BUDOKAI 1 FEATURES

Includes the authentic Japanese voiceover cast

It would make sense cause all the Budokai games in Australia had the Japanese audio track. So if you guys want Japanese dub with the English game just import the Australian version. Your Welcome. :D

It's not a dub, it's the original Japanese audio.

Australian stuff tends to be expensive for some reason so they would be better at importing from Europe via Zavvi/TheHut or Amazon, etc.

 opps dub what was I thinking.
Yeah if Europe's version is the same that would be cheaper Australian prices are ridiculous that's why I import anime and game's. Plus no big rating symbols on the covers.

I'm fearing that international releases of this will get the Japanese voice track for Budokai 1 because that's what they got and are use to it. We never got it, so you'd think they would include it as a bonus or exclude it cause it's close to what we got? I don't know. I just hope that's not the case.

I hope they use a new translation for Budokai 1 cutscenes. On this note alone, and Japanese audio, I'll eventually buy it.
