DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerable?
I'd say Dragon Ball's filler is more tolerable.
Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
Most would agree with you. I do as well. It seems more creative and flows better. It's a lot more interesting than Z's method of "stretch shit out." They still do that to an extent, but it seems more tolerable to me.

DB filler, it only got one "Huh?" moment, Mutaito being able to beat Goku, while DBZ filler is full of plotholes.

Dragon Ball filler
5 minutes lasting for 10 episodes....of a 23 episode fight. Need I said more?

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I'll have to mirror the mass and go for Dragon Ball as well. DBZ's filler had a lot of "go back and explain too much of already known" moments *looks at Cell Saga*, it can get rather tedious.
I enjoy the Dragon Ball original AND Dub, even the VHS Fan-Sub's.

Dragon Ball filler. The original stories were really nice, like all the times Pilaf showed up, Chichi, Namu's village, young Mutenroshi, Tao Pai Pai going up the Karin tower, the labyrinth to find the holy water, the training periods...
Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
I actually enjoy nearly all of the filler in Dragon Ball quite a lot. I like extra stories, and extra details for stories. The filler in Z is awful, I can barely watch the Freeza or Majin Boo battles because they're the worst-paced things I've ever seen, and even the extra stories, like fake Namek, and Goku in Hell, are generally cringe-worthy.

Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
Watching DragonBall while having not read certain bits of the manga, I was surprised to learn which bits were filler (such as Tao Pai Pai going up the Karin tower. I have my surprised face on, now.)
I can't prove this, but I bet if you got someone who had never read the manga to watch both shows, and ask him what bits were filler, he'd be a lot more accurate with DBZ than with DB.

Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
There's a bit more than that. Off the top of my head there's the filler contradicting the origins of the Dragon Balls and Android #8.coola wrote:DB filler, it only got one "Huh?" moment, Mutaito being able to beat Goku, while DBZ filler is full of plotholes.
Other than that, yeah, DB filler was much more enjoyable. By Z most of the people who brought such enjoyable fillers seemed to have moved on to other shows.

DBZ filler is more tolerable
The filler in Dragonball is the reason why I couldn't continue watching the series again past the 2nd season

Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
The Panput vs Goku episode was mostly filler right?
Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
Yes, and now that you mention it, I also enjoyed most of the tournament fillers, eating at the restaurants, sleeping at the hotels and how tournaments lasted a few days with all the buildup tension intead of just one day like in the manga.sonikku956 wrote:The Panput vs Goku episode was mostly filler right?
Apart from the bits of contradictions mentioned above, DB filler was quite enjoyable.

Dragon Ball filler wins out if only for how much Cell saga's filler ticked me off. Some of the best fights were constantly interrupted by Satan and his completely unnecessary filler gang.

Wow, that was actually filler(Tao Pai Pai going up karin tower)? It fitted quite well, DB filler is much harder to tell because it flows better then DBZLiamKav wrote:Watching DragonBall while having not read certain bits of the manga, I was surprised to learn which bits were filler (such as Tao Pai Pai going up the Karin tower. I think DB filler was more tolerable. I didn't like Garlic Jr at all, besides Marron.. Didn't like the ones in Cell and definitely not Satan's stooges. The outer world tournament filler and filler on Namek is automatic skip. I enjoy the saiyan and Great Saiyaman filler though for some reason.

Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
I kinda think this topic should be irrelevant now since pretty much everyone's going to say the original DB.
Anyways, if it weren't for the Freeza Saga or Mr. Satan's annoying filler apprentices, I'd put them at a similar pastel.

Really?! There were some good (skip to 4:46) filler material in that Saga.Jackal puFF wrote:I think DB filler was more tolerable. I didn't like Garlic Jr at all, besides Marron.. Re: DB Filler vs. DBZ Filler? Which one is the most tolerabl
I'd like them both the same if it weren't for the long, drawn out parts in the Freeza Ark. I really like filler because it actually shows everybody just relaxing in between plot points (well mostly). But if I had to just go with just one, it would definitely Dragon Ball.
