I kind of hope Majin Boo does get to do something in this movie since he's on the poster and wasn't featured in the 2008 special...I think it'd be a fun thing to see him get to fight a little bit, aside from comedy bits with Mr.Satan.

This is all assuming the poster is legitimate, but yeah.

I'm thrilled with the new character designs, the villain(?) especially. Definitely not what I was expecting in the slightest. I'm getting a Movie 13 vibe from the poster, like the film may deal with points in time apart from the main DBZ timeline and have a certain sense of mysticism most of the other DBZ films lacked.

Here's hoping that the movie isn't about a tournament though, I can't be the only one who's tired of those...

No in between Gohan and Goten, there is someone standing there wearing blue. I was going off by memory, so sorry it wasn't next to Videl/mystery girl. It doesn't really look like Yamcha, but it's hard to tell. I would think Yamcha would be in the back with Krillin and Tenshinhan.

The character doesn't wear blue, the blue comes from Goten's arm and belt in front of him. He wears white and is Yamcha. Below, wearing purple, it's Shu.

That is Yamcha, but he looks like he's holding someone that isn't Puar. There is a corner that appears to have a flesh colored tone.

The movie takes place before Goku fights him in the tournament. So, probably in his village, somewhere between the ages of 1 and 5...

I'm actually happy they've got a different type of character as the enemy rather than what we usually have, I also think it resembles the egyptian goddess bastet more than anubis, could just be me though.

I would love if they explained how the dragon universe came to be in this movie and if these new villains were the ones who did it or had something to do with it, obviously they're villains or atleast seem to be so they must have an ulterior motive for doing so.

I understand wanting the humans/Piccolo to have a bigger role, but I can't understand why it would be surprising that that isn't the case.

I'm in the camp that he was always able to transform. The way I saw it, the Elder Kai Unlock thingy was just bringing all of Gohan's potential out in his most convenient form; his base form. That way, he has full access to his power without any fatigue. He could still transform, but it would just burn through his ki faster and essentially waste it. Transforming into a Super Saiyan, while dealing with ki, is part of his blood and race. I can't understand how Elder Kai would remove that part of his genetic makeup & replace it with the Mystic form.

I always saw it more like taking away (or rather, releasing) the hidden power that triggered the transformation removed...well, the trigger. It didn't alter his genetic makeup; it just bypassed it.

I could see it that way. That makes sense actually.

But anyway, if you're right and he could transform into a Super Saiyan pointlessly and wastefully, then I'd like to know why he'd use it in this movie. I'm not bothered by it, per se, and there are potential explanations. I'm just curious enough to hope they explain it, you know?

Without knowing anything about the movie, I'd guess it for the same reason I think he transformed in GT....

No I'd say that between his education, and better dedication to his girl than Goku ever showed Chi Chi, and given how old he is which could possibly mean he's getting a job, I would say Gohan doesn't have the time to train. I'm sure he does, as I would think he learned his lesson of slacking off when Buu showed up, but ultimately there's just not enough time in the day to squeeze everything in, and as a result, he eventually grew weaker to the point where transforming made a positive difference again.

Surprising? No. Upsetting? Yes.

I doubt the humans will get a significant role in the movie, but I do think they will have at least one small fighting scene. I mean, they gave everyone a chance to show one attack in that tiny special 4 years ago, I doubt they wouldn't use the same approach with this movie.

I think Piccolo might have more screentime than Yamcha and co., but whether or not he will participate in the fight is left to see. I'm leaning towards yes, because I'm guessing the creators will try to please as many fans as possible with this movie.

I hope they've read everyone's complaints throughout the years about the humans basically being reduced to cheerleaders after the Vegeta/Saiyan saga and they make them do at least something other than standing around watching the big fights. I did like that the 2008 special gave them small roles of helping out, like blasting off pieces of rocks from crushing everybody's heads or protecting the weaker humans. They at least had something to do. I really would like the new movie to have henchmen that the humans can fight while the Saiyans and Piccolo go for the big guys. That way everyone can get in on the action.

Maybe SS Gohan and Cell-arc Vegeta are just promotional designs and we might get arc-accurate designs for the actual films? (Or maybe not, because Pilaf is green for no reason)

Also, that looks like it could be Vegeta gets a spell cast on him which makes him extremely nice. That'd be kinda funny I'd think.

I thought that the Vegeta figure looked a bit odd in that earlier pic and now I know why. It minds me of those old villain types that wring their hands and laugh evilly Vegeta-Pillaf body swap?
