I think it's her hair's length with that style that makes it unappealing to me. It just makes me think too much of Gohan's bowl-cut from the Freeza arc. If it were shorter (like her Buu arc hair) or longer (like shoulder length) it could work better imo.

I do like her sweater-dress with leggings (not so much on the white boots with it though; I think black or even red to match her outfit would look better).

Speaking of Pokemon, she's even got something around her waist that looks like it could theoretically be used to store pokeballs. XD

I can't even place a finger on why I don't like her look really, other than...it....it just doesn't even look like Videl to me, other than it seeming like it has to be her.

The whole look going on there just isn't something I could see Videl going for. GT Videl looks more like Videl to me than that does. :/

I'm hoping this film links in with the DBZ story in some way, or provides some character development or new knowledge of the DBZ world even if it contradicts GT.

Is it safe to assume that there are only those 2 enemies on the poster? The Anubis looking thing and that floating person with the scepter?

I noticed that most DB/DBZ movie posters showcases the main enemies that will be encountered. Excluding Wrath of the Dragon (which didn't include Hoi) and Cooler's Revenge (which didn't include Cooler's 3 henchmen).

I'm still hoping there's a hoard of basic 'soldier' type foes so that Kuririn and the rest of the 'backup' forces get to at least do something this time around. And it'd be nice if there were separate 'final' foes for the main forces, like how modern shonen titles do in the whole 'split the gang up' method.

Oh wow that is just Goten's arm. I should not post so early in the morning; or at least not before I get some caffeine in me. XD

I dunno, baring in mind she is going to be a mother within the next few years she looks more childish now than during Z, I enjoy seeing different outfits though and I'm sure that like when she cut her hair off, it'll grow on me.

More like five/six years from now. There's no indication that Videl is very close to that age here.

Closer than you think. There is only a 5 year gap between the defeat of Buu and Pan's birth. I'm guessing this movie will take place at least a couple years after the Buu Arc, like the JSAT special (which was 2 years after), so it isn't much longer until she's going to be a mom.

Yeah Pan was 5 at the tournament and if we assume this film is after the JSAT that leaves 3 years, with Videl having to be pregnant for around 8 months too, so that leaves just over 2 years.

Videl's appearance in the JSAT was similar to during the Buu Arc so I'd like to presume that this movie takes place after the JSAT as it wouldn't make sense for her to change her appearance only to revert back to her older look.

And we are assuming that Pan isn't born in this film, she could make a cameo as a baby for all we know

Bwah? I thought she was 4? Or was that a dub-ism...*thinks*

Either way, yeah, chances are this movie would be cutting it pretty close. If nothing else, I would like to see the Gohan/Videl wedding. It's time Dragon Ball disprove at least a little of the 'Timeskips make babies' syndrome!

It makes perfect sense, Videl simply has more than one way of dressing.

This new design exists most likely solely to sell new figures and to simply do something different. There's no reason Videl can't simply change back and forth over the years considering how little she aged two years between the Majin Boo arc and the Tarble story.

I dunno, I guess it doesn't matter a lot. I just think it would seem weird for her to change her hair and overall look so radically in those two years but I can appreciate that they probably don't think of stuff like that when they are designing the characters for new content.

And Pan's age was only 4 in the Funi Dub.
