Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

Re: Akira Toriyama video interview...
It's from when he was doing Dr. Slump (as you can probably tell from the visuals), so he's in his mid to late twenties. That woman they show briefly (not the interviewer) is his wife. I like how the interviewer says roughly eight million times more than he does. She practically has to pry responses out of him.

Thanos, Thanks for posting this. I've been wanting a live video of Akira Toriyama and never really knew about this. but It would be awesome to get someone to translate what both are saying.
I hope i get my wish.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

So young, good looking 80s Akira.
That time your teacher asked you to draw Cell in biology class.

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about the fans a re-issue might alienate because if all they're concerned about is being able to scalp the people who were either unaware of the Dragon Boxes or couldn't afford them at the time, they're just leeches and deserve to have their greed backfire on them.

Would also appreciate an English translation of the interview. Youtube translated captions are garbage.

MY HOLY GRAIL (110% Serious. Please sell me one)Mayuri Kurotsuchi wrote:"In this world, nothing perfect exists. It may be a cliche after all but it's the way things are. That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

More to the point, was Tetsuko Kuroyanagi ever young? She's old in this, and she's even more decrepit now.

Re: Akira Toriyama video interview...
I was gonna say... with the nation's TV networks mourning the passing of Mitsuko Mori this week, there have been a few pictures of the two of them together from way back on the news, and yet they were still old ladies. I started to think that maybe they had both popped into existence around middle age or something.
But, anyway... it was a cute interview. Toriyama looks incredibly uncomfortable and out of his element the entire time.

I forget which question it was, but there was a specific instance of completely uncomfortable total dead-air as he just sits there and doesn't answer for quite a few seconds.SaiyaJedi wrote:But, anyway... it was a cute interview. Amazing.

I've never actually seen AT on camera before, sure I've seen photos of the guy, but I've never seen actual video footage. It's kind of like seeing bigfoot. I can only say that I've imagined him differently, he comes off as a completely ordinary dude.
