Friends & Foes
Does anyone here use this? (More specifically the "foe" option.)
If so, do you ever get confused while reading through threads and there are posts missing and does it affect quotes?

Re: Friends & Foes
I tried to add myself to my foe list, but it wouldn't let me.

I've used it once. I won't name any names, but the person in question's posts were usually so inane that they were easily ignorable, and if someone else directly replied to them I thought "Yeah, that sounds about right."

I tried using it once, but I found the missing posts from the "foe" to be a little distracting when reading through a thread. Even if there is a person making posts that would make me consider putting them into my "foes", I just generally scroll past their posts anyway.
Re: Friends & Foes
The foe option blocks peoples posts?
That's neat. I won't use it, but it's neat.
And I have 2-3 people on the friends list since I don't really use that either.

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Re: Friends & Foes
I only make "friends", not "foes". I'd find myself feeling a little bit guilty about designating someone who's technically a stranger over the internet as a "foe", even if I may not agree with many of their posts. But really, I could understand if we're debating politics or something, but on something as trivial (no offence, but you know what I mean) as a Dragon Ball forum, how many "foes" can you make? And just because you don't agree with someone's opinions doesn't mean you can't have a good debate with them, unless they're a troll, or a Nazi, or something.
Also, since I'm quite obsessive-compulsive and a completionist, I'd get anxious and/or annoyed not having read all the posts on a topic I'm interested in, especially if someone who I don't have as a "foe" makes a post replying to it, and I'd have no idea what they're replying to.

Re: Friends & Foes
This entirely. Never on a forum have I used either the friend or foe option. Out of interest, what does "friending" someone do?Piccolo Daimao wrote:Also, since I'm quite obsessive-compulsive and a completionist, I'd get anxious and/or annoyed not having read all the posts on a topic I'm interested in, especially if someone who I don't have as a "foe" makes a post replying to it, and I'd have no idea what they're replying to.

Re: Friends & Foes
I see like it's pointless to add someone on your foe list if you can still see them in the quote box. I normally would scroll pass it, but it's pointless if that person is on the forums all of the time. That's why I hardly use it.

Re: Friends & Foes
I would (maybe) only use the foe option if the person was just an outright troll or harasser. But considering how well moderated this forum is, there's no users to add.

Re: Friends & Foes
I put a few users on mine before, but I remove them since they stop posting. The forums here are very well moderated and has hardly any trolls compare to sites like Toho Kingdom and AVPGalaxy.

Re: Friends & Foes
Anyone who posts senseless posts or continuously type bad grammars such as proper captialization or punctuation will be automatically added to my foe list, until moderators take care of them or the users stop doing these. I have a couple of them on my list right now.
