Even if they don't, Goku uses one against Super Buu in the Manga. However I'm pretty sure they will use filler since for Vegeta they talked about things in GT. So that means the Kienzan definitely can be stopped since Krillin's did nothing against Cell in the Anime.ringworm128 wrote:I wonder if they'll use that Kienzan Goku pulled of in Movie 3.

Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread

Seems like it's all inclusive. Including GT makes sense to me, regardless. It doesn't really change too much. We get a new Super Saiyan form that's vaguely stronger than the previous one and...that's about it. There is that whole thing about the ending, whether or not Goku is an immortal ghost or something but I don't think that would factor into the match.

There was more to pull out of DBGT than you might expect.

Awesome. Death Battles are pretty much the pinnacle of this kind of thing. They really do their homework, sometimes too much (there was at least a little disappointment over Peach getting powers extrapolated from the Mario sports games). But, really, in this case everything is fair game.
It sounds like a perfect match up if they take everything Dragon Ball and put it up against everything Superman circa 1986-Present. Effectively the "origin" of both happening at roughly the same time.
It also looks like December 21 is the release date.

I hope there's an actual winner. I'd feel cheated if it just ends with everything blowing up and a "the Mayans told ya so" comment tacked on.

I've been wondering if maybe they would call it a tie and go with 3 different fights with the various versions of Superman. He does range in power at such a insane level that it would almost make sense to have Goku win 1, Superman win 1, and for a tie. Probably won't since they've never done that before but just a thought.

Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
If they only consider Post-Crisis he doesn't bounce around that much, and it's usually explained in various ways whenever he does. Goku scales is power at least as much over the course of the story, not to mention a few wacky moments in the movies, but obviously the goal is to take both characters at their best.
Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
Yeah Goku scales a lot but besides some odd little things and some movie stuff he basically just gets stronger. Where as Superman just flat out jumps in power all over the place based on what source your looking at. Its like in the cartoon from ~12 years ago he struggles to stop a plane from crashing but in one of the recent cartoon movies he says he can move the planet and says it casually like its no big deal. And if they take the characters at their best shouldn' they use Pre Crisis or some of Supermans other insane versions. I don't see how it could even be a close fight if they do.

They use current versions/main versions. If they used most powerful we would have God Spawn, King Thor, Godwave Wonder Woman, God Kratos, etc.TonyTheTiger wrote:If they only consider Post-Crisis he doesn't bounce around that much, and it's usually explained in various ways whenever he does. If GT's fair game, we'd better see some Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta.

I believe one of the standard "DEATH BATTLE" rules across all fights is that "no outside help is allowed". I would take this to mean fusion would be out.batistabus wrote:If GT's fair game, we'd better see some Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta.

If GT's in, then would it be safe to assume movies, filler, and guidebooks are too?

Death Battle uses every feat that exist. Superman is likely going to use his All Star Superman feats which had him to punch another Planet from what I can remember.

No they don't. If they did they would have used God Spawn, God Kratos, God Wave Wonder Woman, King Thor, Hyper Sonic, Cosmic Spider-man, Batman with (Supes or GL powers) (Beyond suit or Suit of Sorrows) the list goes on. They only use standard and currently known statistics. They might mention some of these other feats but stick with the common known versions. Even for Link and Cloud they stayed only to basics.Hellspawn28 wrote:Death Battle uses every feat that exist. Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
Yeah but All-Star Superman isn't an alternate Superman, it is the Superman everyone knows. It's place in canon is questionable but it's not like he's notably different from the standard like those other examples.
