Weird "intro"

Post by desirecampbell » Wed Feb 22, 2006 9:43 am

SO, I was cruizing RetroJunk.com and came across this (intro 3)
http://www.retrojunk.com/details_tvshow ... 356/#intro

Is this a real DBZ intro sequence? Or just some strange fan video? It seems really long for an onpening sequence... and looks terrible.

Isn't it FUNimation's "Ultimate Uncut" intro?
Where's the beef?

That's FUNimation's new intro that accompanies the "ultimate uncut" episodes when they air on TV. Yeah, it's stupidly long, and stupid looking. ;_;

I was thinking it looked like the ultimate uncut boxes... but then I thought, why would they make the video look like that? Sigh.

Yeah, that is the "Ultimate Uncut" Intro. Maybe it would be a little cooler if it wasn't so "red". :?

I know, but you can see the blood without all that red, I could hardly tell what was going on.

I like it, I don't know if it's a trend to say that it's rubbish whenever Funi or someone else tries to update the image of dragonball (apart from when they don't stay true to the original context and Sorry if it sounded negative but it happnes a lot with marvel comic readers).
If you trully don't like it then please don't mind my rant but I honestly think it's good so i'm sorry to some if that makes me less of a Dragonball fan. Isn't the opening like only 1 minute long?

I am not saying its bad it is just a little too "extreme?" for my taste. I haven't actually timed the opening, but it seems so long when all you want to do is get to the Violence and Action that Ultimate Uncut has, especially when most of the DB-DBGT you've seen are the edited dub.

It's certainly a far shot from "Head Cha-La".

This intro basically sums up how FUNimation turned DBZ from a mystical fanstasy into a wrestling match music video.

I actually thought it looked so unprofessional it, and artistically discusting that a comertial production company couldn't have done it. Never under estimate FUNi

It's only a1:30, but it feels really long, it's just "heavy gutair, Goku fighting, repeat" oh and do they ever repeat. It gets old after twenty seconds.

I kinda like the theme. I know its not the original, but hey, whatever.

For what it's worth, yeah, it's a bit long, but it still sounds really cool with the stereo turned up.

That's just my two cents.

I also kinda like the music, but yeah the whole thing is kinda lame. "Prelude to Conflict" for the Cell and Buu sagas was a lot better.

I think they're prettymuch NOT allowed to do that anymore, same goes for the old Dragonball theme. Though, just being hypothetical, who do you think could've sung a good english version of Cha-La Head Cha-La if they had actually done this?

Whoever FUNi had sing the dubbed version of Makafushigi Adobenchâ! for the redub first 13 episodes and rest of the series of original DB, I think that'd be a nice choice.

I'm really 'meh' on the opening. I think Cha-la-la fits Dragonball better.

Speaking of intros, sorry for being off topic, but where does this come from?
