It looks like Kibitoshin and Elder Kaioshin won't show up at all in the movie.

I'm still utterly baffled by their absence; perhaps they'll make a surprise appearance at the end? There's still a hidden figure that could be either of them (probably wishful thinking at this point) and the God of Creation role still has to be filled, so there's a chance that they can still squeeze into this film somehow.

I'd like to think that they show up and somehow play a role in helping Goku defeat Birusu.

Or Uisu was the one that locked the Elder Kaioshin away...nah.

Same, this is bothering me way more than Gohan's hair or anything else. With a story on this scale, dealing with the gods and all, how in the heck are they not involved even in a limited capacity?

As for your other theory, wasn't whoever it was that sealed Elder Kaioshin away supposed to be 'strong but not as strong as Majin Boo'? Or was that a dub line only? I can't remember.

The manga, anime, GT, etc. are all set in the same world, the DB world... The writter said GT is not part of the original manga, which is true, and if he ignores GT that's only because his story is set before GT in the DB timeline.

Never understood what's so cool about One Piece. It definitely isn't bad, but to be this awesome?

It has an astoundingly detailed, intricate, well-crafted world filled with creative ideas and colorful characters, and its narrative is more consistent and well-developed than DB's.

And I don't even like it that much, either. I have a tremendous respect for it, though, and especially of Oda.

If the Kaisoshins don't appear, this will annoy the hell out of me. It's right in the time where they are in contact with the Z fighters and now comes another alledged god who wants to wreak havoc and they don't interfere at all?

I'm right there with ya on the Kaioshins, but it appears they are not going to be in the movie. I have a few theories about why.

1.) This movie seems to want to be a throwback to what is "classic" about Dragon Ball. That's why Chala Head Chala beats out We Gotta Power. Therefore, King Kai beats them out because he is more classic to the series. I don't see why you can't have both but that may be a big reason why.

2.) Toriyama forgot about them, somehow. :/

3.) They ARE in there, but there part is so small there's no reason for them to be in the trailer or promotional media.

GT had some really good ideas, but the show was overall just very badly executed, kinda like the Star Wars prequels.

Kinda caught my sight on this one. I honestly don't understand why the people are saying the prequels were so bad. They looked fine to me. The story happened. That's how Anakin was found. That's how the Clone Wars occured. That's how Anakin became Darth Vader.

The execution seems pretty good. Nothing's wrong with it.

That's a rather hasty assumption, considering how little information we have on the movie even now. There's no reason to think that the characters we've seen in images so far are the only characters in the movie.

Anyway, if they're doing the Buu arc for Kai, it would also make sense to bring her back for that as well, for consistency.

I think he's referring to the sex scandal when Hirano got the boot from Lantis (and later Space Craft Entertainment) last year after she slept with her own band members. She eventually moved to Grick and now her new label, Universal Sigma.

A bit more on topic, I am starting to get concerned I may be hyping this movie up a bit too much for myself. I am putting a lot of faith into it because of Toriyama's involvement and the fact that I enjoyed the jump special so much. Some people tell me they didn't like Heya! Son Goku & Friends... but I felt like it actually gave some development on the characters (like seeing how Vegeta and Goku will fight over anything competitively these days) even if it was geared more towards humor. I guess a part of me is hoping to see more than just bad guy shows up and they fight... I am really hoping this movie introduces something new to the series or develops the characters somewhat. I want to kind of treat it like a lost mini-saga/arc like Garlic Jr. except canon. I know people say it is only really canon if it is part of the manga. Well, a little part of me is hoping against hope toriyama will have done up a small chapter on this. I know, I know.
