What are the odds, do you guys think, that we'll get a theatrical release over here in the States?

As I mention many times before, I think we see it get released in cons and film festivals. Not a major theatrical release like most people are hoping for. If we do get a big release then I doubt it's going to break box office records and be #1 at the box office like people want it to be.

If FOX is distributing, I just hope they don't cause trouble for Funi. I want that DVD release with the option of Japanese audio and English subs, and I know there are a lot of people who want Funi's dub and would be upset if FOX decided to dub it themselves.

I think Fox will end up teaming up with Funi to dub the series. Warner Bros distributed the first Pokemon movies while 4kids dubbed the movies. I think the same will likely happen here.

Just because Fox distributes it doesn't mean they'd dub it, guys. Pioneer distributed the first three movies, but it was dubbed by Ocean's dubbing studios.

Does that mean like, a personification of a star in outer space (which would explain him vs Goku in space in the trailer) or are they speaking in the "he's famous" way?

I really do think now that whis is the real bad guy and that Bius is being manipulated. The way I see this going, actually, is Goku & Co. will not be able to defeat Bius at all but once they uncover Whis' manipulation he will turn on him. I don't think he will befriend Goku and all that though.

It'd be nice if he said something like "come challenge me in my realm if you ever feel you may be strong enough" at the end and that explains where Goku goes at the end of GT. (Yeah I'm mostly kidding, I kind of hate GT and don't want this to connect to it really ahha)...

So, Toriyama says that with the manga he gave up on creating a stronger enemy, but with this movie he took a hint from the screenwriter and came up with the god of destruction. The god of destruction is a gourmet. He easily destroys planets, because if he didn't, new planets couldn't be born.

I have no clue what Toriyama means by calling the god of destruction a "gourmet". Does it have some different connotation in Japanese I'm unaware of? Not sure. Long day of travelling. Have headache. Help, Kei17!

I looked at the Japanese wiki page for "Gourmet" and it seems to also possibly have the meaning of describing someone who "pursues pleasure often" ... I'm guessing maybe it can also be used to basically say he really enjoys doing it and desires to destroy things, kind of a gluttony thing? It was under the synonyms and related words section.

That could be it, maybe it's like saying he has a vast familiarity with destroying things so he is quite knowledgeable about it. The japanese wiki page basically says that. Like he is an expert on destroying planets/stars.

I've been trying to translate stuff with this kanji/katakana/hiragana dictionary I bought. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I only resorted to Google tonight because I'm so immensely tired that I don't think I could concentrate properly to go at it by hand.

[Why would you think that when Gohan surpassed all of them at such a young age and Uub has even more potential likely than that being that he is the reincarnation of a being as powerful as Buu. I never took it as though Goku was looking for a "successor," Goku is more selfish when it comes to fighting than that. I'm sure he'd love for Uub to be a successor, but I honestly felt that his real purpose in training him was because he had such respect for that level of power and wanted to fight him again. Goku is a man who lives for the thrill of the fight and a challenge. At this point in the series, he has grown so powerful I'm sure he knows there's little chance of him finding another as powerful. ... and yet.

I dont buy the whole more potential thing. Last I checked only hybrid Saiyan/Humans had a ridiculous amount of potential. He is a kid with Buu's potential that can be increased. Toriyama brought him in as a successor. That was the whole point of the scene with the Kinto' un. Its the passing of the torch so to speak. Goku plans to train him so that they can have a good fight but Uub will not surpass Goku as long as Goku lives IMO. The idea that Uub will get more than 400x stronger than Goku is just silly to me. Besides the likelihood of stronger villains than Bils coming along at this point is unlikely.

Base Goku is not necessarily at Oob's level.
