In Goku or Evil Boo they involuntarily felt Goku's Ki, so it's a little different. Or at least you can't take it for granteed that Gotenks is stronger because of that.

It shouldn't be taken for granted but it should be heavily considered. REMEMBER, you, nor I, know how Goku sensed Gotenks. It is completely off-panel. However, the way he describes it more than implies he sensed Gotenks in the same way Evil Boo or himself were sensed (like the power was suddenly 'up' and then it 'vanished').

It should be a fact though that no powers below Fat Boo can be sensed imho.

Goku at Enma's was able to sense Gohan in the Kaioshin Realm when he tried to, and Gohan was just hanging around in his base form. Is it easier to sense someone in the Kaioshin Realm from Enma's than it is from Earth? That's possible, I suppose, but we can't say for sure. Both are in the cosmos ball, and the Kaioshin Realm isn't. Maybe Goku's ki sensing is just really good.

Yes, at the time Goku ask himself why he can sense Gohan from the afterlife but not from the Earth.

Did he? Viz's dialogue leaves it more ambiguous. I'm curious about how it was worded in Japanese now, but I don't have time to check.

Gotenks being able to sense Gotenks' ki from the Kaioshin realm shouldn't mean anything, because he can probably sense Goten and Trunks' ki as well. Think about it - he finds it strange that he can't sense Gotenks' ki and doesn't assume they're just not fused at the time. Makes me think that he could sense them, fused or not.

Goku CAN'T sense the collective energies of all human life on Earth. Remember only Kaioshin, with his godly powers, could tell that everyone on Earth was killed. Why would Goku be able to sense the Z senshi without them being strong enough (ie SSjin3 level)?

@Saiga, nothing suggests he can sense them without being fused. He's referring to how Evil Boo's Ki has disappeared without Gotenks fighting him (Gotenks didn't fuse while Evil Boo was formed.) He did, however, sense Gotenks before.

In fan-translated manga, after base Gotenks fights fat Buu and loses, Piccolo tells him that he needs to "train more" and that he should fight Buu when gets "a little stronger".

I don't need the exact translation, but is that the same idea from the Viz/original manga?

When it comes to Goku's quote on Gotenks: to me, it seems like Goku is a bit confused at not sensing Gotenks because it's possible that Super Boo was somehow defeated (with them noting how his Chi was no longer there), and it wouldn't make sense for him to not sense the power of the fusion because it would've presumably been powerful enough to beat Super Boo--which means it would've been nigh impossible to not sense Gotenks if they actually fought Super Boo at some point.

Probably not making any sense, but I'm trying.

Come to think of it, the "ki" mentioned as vanishing in the left balloon could be referring to Boo's, since there's no actual pronoun there in Japanese. It might be a little clearer in the context of the conversation rather than just the one panel on its own.

If he could sense base Gohan in the Kaioshin realm from the cosmos, but not the Earthlings in the cosmos from the Kaioshin realm, I'd assume it's because Earthlings have much smaller and harder to pick up ki. Either that or it's easier to sense things in the Kaioshin realm from Enma's for whatever reason. Honestly, I don't think there's any real proof against either option.

Checked the full scene, and yeah, in context it seems pretty clearly to be a reference to Boo's ki. It only seemed otherwise because I just had that one panel to look at out of context. Sorry for the confusion.
