How long does time pass in the after life compared to Earth

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Perhaps a figure of speech? I dunno.

Chapter: 476 (DBZ 282), P9.7
Context: Goku says he’s almost out of time for staying on Earth, and Piccolo says he should have more
Goku: “It’s that ‘Super Saiyan 3’ thing from before…It’s a technique you should only use in the afterlife…In this world, where time exists, it uses too much energy, and you get completely exhausted all at once…”
I'm really not sure what he was trying to say.
I think he's just trying to say "where there is a time limit to how long I can sustain energy, it uses too much."

That's the sort of thing I have to assume, but it's still a super weird way of wording it.

He seems to be saying that the reason there's a time limit in the first place is because there's time down here, with the implication that time itself doesn't exist up there in the afterlife. Maybe it's a figure of speech, but for what? What's the actual difference between the living world and afterlife that makes using Super Saiyan 3 so much harder in the living world?

It seems to be more than just not needing to worry about sleeping/eating/aging when you're equipped with a fancy dead person body. If that were all, Goku would still have those advantages while visiting the living world for a day, and there wouldn't be any difference for dead him using it up in the afterlife or down in the living world.

Maybe whatever infinite vitality that a dead person possesses while in the afterlife is reduced to a finite and relatively small amount while they're visiting the living world. So Super Saiyan 3 wears Goku out by draining away this "temporary afterlife-life," but it's restored and limitless again once he's back in heaven.

I suppose once you're alive, it just drains away all your ki/stamina instead, which would kind of be the same thing, just with slightly different "rules" behind it.

I think what Goku was trying to say was that all shopping centers in the afterlife are open 24/7, there's no rush.
That time your teacher asked you to draw Cell in biology class.

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about the fans a re-issue might alienate because if all they're concerned about is being able to scalp the people who were either unaware of the Dragon Boxes or couldn't afford them at the time, they're just leeches and deserve to have their greed backfire on them.

Transformations consume your life energy. If Goku was unable to revert from Super Saiyan, it would eventually kill him.

Super Saiyan 3, being such an insane transformation, will kill you in just a few minutes. Gotenks dies from it.

In the afterlife, souls are immortal, so the well that SS3 burns never runs dry.

On Earth, Dead Goku got 24 hours of life back - SS3 burns through that.

So, if Goku was made immortal by the Dragonballs, he could use SS3 with no consequence because it can't drain his life.

That's how I see it.
