Stupid but believable and in character

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

The point of this thread is to point out character decisions that are ridiculous and implausible in real-life but understandable in terms of characterization. Besides, absorbing Gohan at the first given opportunity would have made his job much easier.

Oh and my contribution:

Kaioshin's "plan".

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Justification: He couldn't kill Buu because people were inside of him and the Dragon Balls were inert.
Quick question on that. Wouldn't the Earth dragon balls still have been usable since Dende was alive at the time? Goku knew that Dende was still alive also, since he chose not to fuse with him. I suppose you could justify that though either way though, since Piccolo would not have been able to be revived with Earth's balls, having been the only one of the four that had died before. He also may have been holding out hope that those that were eaten could still be inside Buu, but it seems to come down to whether saving Piccolo would be worth risking the universe on, had the barrier not worked. This is unless I am missing something big.

But it's not really stupid, ridiculous, or implausible. Boo could still absorb Gohan at any time, and he did so when it became necessary.

Yes, absorbing Gohan would be easier, but it isn't automatically stupid not to take the most beneficial path.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

But Super Boo (normal) isn't the type to bullshit around. He's mostly apathetic when his opponent isn't a threat to him in any way.
