It is? Like, in official capacity? Last I'd heard they were just called 'Freeza's race', but I haven't really followed Heroes super-closely.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Froze is already the name of the Freeza Race hero from Heroes.Gyt Kaliba wrote:I like Froze myself. Ack, yeah, I see that now. My brain completely skipped over 'hero' because of 'Heroes' coming shortly after that. I hate when that happens.
And yeah, it'd be Heroes. As far as I know, Online only has the Human, Namekian, and Majin races playable.

I've always been fond of the term 'Icers' for their race. I forget where I picked that up though.CaBrPi wrote:I personally like to call them "Refrigerans" or something like that.

Bleeeehhhhh, I'm always uncomfortable whenever I see Dragon Ball fanart not in it's native art-style or one that works for it to be enjoyed.
The above pic especially reminds me of common Doujin artwork.

Re: Fan Works Explosion
I'll agree that it looks a little weird (and knowing which character they meant to be which Ouran character, I'm even more perplexed), but I found it interesting myself. It's a crossover artwork I never thought I'd come across anyway.

You're not used to the shojo artstyle at all, are you.DarkPrince_92 wrote:That....and how gay they make some characters look...

Shojo art style is supposed to appeal more to girls... not too fitting for Dragon Ball.Gyt Kaliba wrote:I'll agree that it looks a little weird (and knowing which character they meant to be which Ouran character, I'm even more perplexed), but I found it interesting myself. Either Shonen or Shojo, most manga artists can't draw their way out of a wet paper bag. Toriyama's no exception. There's a difference between a bad style and a plainly bad artist. I've never seen the glamor of the Shojo art style, or even manga style in general. Most of it is too simple. I can only think of a handful of manga artists who I believe are halfway decent.
I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

Kentaro Miura (Berserk), Masashi Kishimoto, Hiromu Arakawa (her's is borderline), Satoshi Kon (Paranoia Agent), Hiroya Oku (Gantz), Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira)Gonstead wrote:Could you possibly name them?Ketchup_Revenge wrote:I can only think of a handful of manga artists who I believe are halfway decent.
One of my least favorites is Eiichiro Oda (One Piece). I absolutely hate his art style.

Well yeah, but that's why I personally found it kind of interesting myself. Then again, I'm a fan of some shojo titles, just as I am for shonen.Ketchup_Revenge wrote:Shojo art style is supposed to appeal more to girls... not too fitting for Dragon Ball.
I don't know if I'd go that far, as I think there are a lot of manga artists who draw amazingly (though I'm a horrible artist myself, so that makes me easier to impress for the most part). At the very least, I find the general 'anime/manga' style more pleasing to my eyes than a lot of the sketchier stuff used in some US comics.Either Shonen or Shojo, most manga artists can't draw their way out of a wet paper bag. Toriyama's no exception. There's a difference between a bad style and a plainly bad artist. I've never seen the glamor of the Shojo art style, or even manga style in general. As far as favorite manga artists goes, I think my top three would have to be Masakazu Katsura (I"s, Video Girl Ai, Zetman), Nobuhiro Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin, Buso Renkin), and Akira Toriyama (Self explanatory isn't it?

I think the Ouron/DB picture is hysterical. When I was younger I used to hate anything that didn't look like it could be official art. Nowadays I'm more interested in fanart that looks totally different but still executes in a cool/interesting way. So everyone appreciates art differently, and even the same person can like different things at different times. So if you don't like something, that's cool, but no need to be a jerk about it.

I hate that art style too.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

I was letting it slide before when used, but I can't say I'm fond of the misuse of this word either.

I dunno, they look pretty (manga-style) homosexual to me.
Re: Fan Works Explosion
They actually look gay (or gayer). Its not really an insult (IMO), its what they really look like.
