I like Her cule (damn these filters are annoying) for Mr Satan's name. I think it's a great fit for the character. Same with "Guru" for the Grand Elder.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I second liking We Gotta Power more than Cha-La Head-Cha-La.
I like the Buu saga more than the Artificial Human/Cell saga.
Probably more of an unpopular Kanzenshuu opinion, but Masakox is not my favorite English voice of Goku. Personally, I think he's a good fit for Goku's innocent and child-like side, but when it comes to the more serious stuff, something just seems off to me (I've seen at least a couple scene fandubs with him as Goku too, so I don't think it's just me associating the voice with a parody). But I still really like Masakox and what he does with Goku. Sean Schemmel in DBZ Kai would be my top English voice pick, with Peter Kelamis being number two.
I like Gohan more as a high school student than as a kid.
Ceyli Delgadillo as young Goku is far better than Nadolny.
While I think DB is "better" than DBZ, I have a lot more fun watching DBZ. Which is why I've seen DBZ way more than DB, and it never gets old to me. I suppose that isn't an unpopular thing to say, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
I thought the Kai music placement was pretty good, but with the Yamamoto score, I didn't like how there was basically one song that got used every time a Z-Warrior died. While I don't like the Kikuchi Kai placement early on, what with the Yamamoto stuff being fresh in my brain, I thought it fit very well by the second half.
I want the original DB to be Kai-ifyed just to hear a better English dub by FUNimation.
I'd like to see a movie that doesn't really involve a villain.
On an unrelated note, when Kai made it to the Future Trunks story, I would have liked some sort of Tarble reference. Like Vegeta pondering if Trunks could be the son of Tarble.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Somehow I missed this one before, but I'd have to agree and 'third' it. Maybe it's because I've seen DBZ so many more times, maybe it's because that's what I got into first, I don't know - but that's the main portion of the series I usually think of.DBZAOTA482 wrote:I second that notion.KingofWisdom wrote:While I think DB is "better" than DBZ, I have a lot more fun watching DBZ. Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Dragon Ball is better in some ways however Vegeta not being in it is a major thing that kind of puts it below DBZ for me. I think the biggest problems I have with Dragon Ball is that it moves a little too slow for me and I don't really care for a large portion of the main cast. Whenever I watch Dragon Ball I usually get bored and just watch episodes of a Budokai, fight with King Piccolo, or any episode with Master Roshi in it because he is awesome XD. I never found the whole adventure thing appealing. Yeah there are good episodes outside of the Budokai's and such but I certainly don't find Dragon Ball as good as Dragon Ball Z.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

I enjoy Dragon Ball (the series as a whole, not just pre-Z) more for the character moments than the fights.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Thought of a few more:
* I like Clinkenbeard's Kid Goku voice better than I do her Kid Gohan voice.
* I think the Saiyan arc filler is just as boring and worthless as the rest of the Z filler and vastly prefer the Kai version, except when they cut out whole pages of manga.
* Speaking of Kai, I've heard people say I moves too fast. Maybe in one or two episodes do I feel it moves too fast, but for the most part I still find it to be too slow, especially during the Artificial Human/Cell arc.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
It was quite jarring how quick the fight with Goku and Freeza was, especially after what it was like in DBZ.

More so than that, I actually like Mr. Satan, and quite enjoy Chris Rager's dub of him.ringworm128 wrote:I like Her cule (damn these filters are annoying) for Mr Satan's name. I think it's a great fit for the character. Same with "Guru" for the Grand Elder.
I think in an I saw an interview somewhere with Chris Sabat, and the reason I remember this interview in particular was because he said that Mr. Satan is his favorite character because he considered him the most "realistic" character in the series. Realistic as in he tries to do good, but fucks up a lot. I found this really surprising considering that Mr. Satan is one of the characters that he doesn't voice.
I agree. I more enjoy the over-all goofiness of the series and the characters than I do the fighting aspect of it, even though the fighting obviously is still cool.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:I enjoy Dragon Ball (the series as a whole, not just pre-Z) more for the character moments than the fights.

I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

Great, now I'm wondering what he would sound like if Sabat voiced him.Ketchup_Revenge wrote: More so than that, I actually like Mr. Satan, and quite enjoy Chris Rager's dub of him.

I prefer the instrumental version of Ore Wa Tokoton Tomaranai!! from the Budokai 3 opening outside of Japan to the vocal version.

I think TeamFourStar's DBZ Abridged is pretty lame and over-rated. I do admire KaiserNeko's editing skills when it comes to lip syncing though, but that's about it.
