Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
Maybe the idea is that they're relatively close in strength, so that it's hard to say who's stronger? I agree that it'd be kinda pointless for them to write something like that if Vegetto wasn't supposed to be anywhere near as strong as a Super Saiyan 4; I think the idea is that he's at least in the same ballpark as 4, and maybe even higher.hleV wrote:If Vegetto wasn't stronger than SSJ4, then what's the point in implying such a possibility? Really, what's the point?
It might be more clearly worded in Japanese. I doubt it, since the guide are always saying vague stuff like this, but it might be worth a look. For that matter it's probably a good idea to confirm that this is actually said in the original and not a mistranslation from Japanese to Chinese.

Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
What this statement says to me is that Super Vegetto is slightly stronger than SS4 Goku & Vegeta.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I could imagine them not being completely committed to the idea. That is, I'm not sure there is an "actually he isn't" or an "actually he is"--just a "maybe; we couldn't decide."hleV wrote:Do you honestly imagine them saying that Vegetto is perhaps stronger than a SSJ4, while actually he isn't?

Wow, that's something new. Regardless, I am taking Vegetto perhaps being stronger than a SSJ4 to my heart as fact. Because it makes sense.

What book is that from?
Edit: Apparently it's the anime comics edition of the GT special.
When was that published in relation to GT's premiere?

Hey... Is it possible to translate something else beside DB?
I have a full page of what I think is an explanation of the world of Gaea from the artbook of The Vision of Escaflowne.

If this is true, Limits surpassed SSJ4 Goku, Ultra amplified brutes waves SSJ4 Vegeta, and SSJ4 Gogeta did not exist yet.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Between episodes 53 & 54.

It's true, just check the release dates of those episodes, and the GT TV Special Animation comic.lash wrote:If this is true, Limits surpassed SSJ4 Goku, Ultra amplified brutes waves SSJ4 Vegeta, and SSJ4 Gogeta did not exist yet.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Between episodes 53 & 54.

I'm not sure if these are good enough quality, but I don't really want to rip the pages out to have them flat against the scanner.
Would it be possible for someone to translate, well, all of this? Reason I ask is because so far as I've seen, nobody has the second volume of the GT Perfect Files translated online yet, and I really want to finish my GT research, so I got the book but...I can't read the language (I can only see the numbers like "1" and "4"
).

Vegetto stronger than a SSJ4. That's WILD ... and interesting enough to work.

Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread

Does this say anything about Goku's or Oob's power? And also:

What does this say about Paragus & Bardock's connection, and also about Tullece's & Goku's connection?

I really hope we could get those two bits translated (Bardock-Paragus and Kakarot-Tullece)

Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
I actually translated that whole page on Saiyans a long time ago. Guess I never posted the whole thing on the forums...and I'm having some computer trouble and can't access that document right now (I'm typing this on my phone). But I did post the part about Paragus some time ago:
The thing connecting Tullece and Goku basically says that since Tullece knew in advance that Goku was on Earth, he might have had an interest in the famously brave Bardock and his son. When Goku was born, Tullece should have already been a first-rate warrior, and perhaps they met at that time. They knew each other?!
Paragus’ class is unknown, but since he was able to talk directly to King Vegeta, he should have had a high social position. Since he said to Goku “Aren’t you’re Barduck’s brat?” it could be thought that he was Barduck’s boss.
[caption to picture of Barduck] Goku’s father Barduck was famous for his bravery even among the Saiyans.

I see! Oh, it's interesting to know about these bits of data about the Saiyans. I'm glad to know Tullece was older than Goku. I do like better the idea of him as Bardock's brother.

Tullece seems very similar to Barduck, maybe they're brothers? --- Now that is something I can get behind.
