Re: Songs that remind you of DBZ & characters
Kind of a cop out, but any of the hard rock songs that used to be put into the dub of the movies, will usually instantly remind me of those movies. Some of them I recognize so well that I can see the exact moments they played.
Beyond that, I know two songs that constantly remind me of Vegeta for some reason - Electrasy's Cosmic Castaway and Disturbed's The Divide. I've halfway plotted out AMV's about him using them before, but then I have to remind myself that I'm not much of an AMV maker, I'd probably never do a DB one anyway (way too much possible footage to shift through), and Vegeta's hardly my favorite character so...meh.

Same story here(Except Vegeta's definitely my favorite). Another song that reminds me of Vegeta is Tom Sawyer(Rush), and every time I hear it my mind goes into AMV creating mode. I even started an outline and a notebook to write down episode numbers/minutes in(with side notes attached) to refer back to once I started the sifting/piecing together phase. I only got through a handful of episodes before I quit. Sitting down with a notebook and pen, constantly ready to pause/rewind/analyze is no way to watch dbzGyt Kaliba wrote:Beyond that, I know two songs that constantly remind me of Vegeta for some reason - Electrasy's Cosmic Castaway and Disturbed's The Divide. Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

What I`m Made Of by Crush 40 reminds me of Super Saiyan Goku in the fight against Freeza.

I listen to quite a bit of punk rock and heavy metal and whenever I hear a song that has the vocalist screaming it makes me think of Scott McNeil's Piccolo and his awesome screams throughout DBZ. (Especially at the start of Dead Zone)

Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping" reminds me of the Z fighters, the Saiyans most particular, with "I get knocked down, and I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down."

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Saliva's "Superstar" always reminds me of Bardock and the special.
Fort Minor's "Remember the Name" makes me think of when Gohan faces off against Buu.
Queen's "Princes of the Universe" and "Gimme the Prize" remind of Vegeta and his rivalry against Goku
But at the end of the day, I could see DBZ set against almost any of Daft Punk's music. So much so, I wish they could have done the BGM for the dub of the series (a'la Interstella 5555). Best part they could work solely as instrumentals if need be.
"Superheroes" for example, would be a good song for Goku's arrival on the scene.
"Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", could be for training montages or power up moments.
"Around the World", would have worked as traveling music to and on Namek
"Face to Face" for anytime there was a face off Goku/Vegeta, Goku/Freeza, Gohan/Buu, etc
"Digital Love" could have been Chi Chi's theme when she and Goku get together at tournament.
"Aerodynamic" stands out as a theme for when Goku and Vegeta face off against each other for the first time, or just after he goes SSJ against Freeza.
"Technologic", perfect theme for the androids.
To me, the list is just endless when it comes to their music.

I always mainly think of DBZ when I hear Let's Fighting Love from South Park.
