Why didn't anyone step in to kill cell when in second form?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Why didn't anyone step in to kill cell when in second form?

Post by blackenfist » Sun Feb 03, 2013 3:32 am

When gohan punched cell making him spit 18 he became significantly weaker than Gohan. However not just to gohan. Vegeta, Goku,Trunks, and maybe even piccolo are much more powerful at this point. So the question is. Why didn't anyone jump in to finish cell off while gohan was toying with him?

They were afraid of Gohan.

Because in the manga, Cell immediately bloats up into his self-destruction mode after spitting up 18?

There was no need to.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Goku did tell Gohan to finish him off when Cell reverted into his Semi-Perfect form. I'm sure others had faith in Gohan to finish Cell if in their place.

I miss battles such as Goku/Piccolo vs. Raditz and Goku/Gohan/Krillin/Yajirobe vs. Vegeta, where the characters would not hesitate to fight the main enemy all at once. It's really sad when you have a bunch of powerful warriors and only one of them fights the enemy while the others just stand there looking shocked and commenting the fight as if it were a match of ice hokey or something :(

There's Goku/Vegeta/Fat Boo/Mr. Satan vs. Pure Boo near the tail-end of the Majin Boo Saga.

Yeah that was decent. But even then Vegeta and Fat Boo didn't really shine (Vegeta battlewise anyway) and Mr. Satan's actions were all very predictable for the reader. But I did like that the Gods, the Nameks, the Earth all contributed to Pure Boo's defeat in their own way.

I understood it as they didn't want to risk Gohan's pure wrath being redirected upon them by ruining this fight.
