Possibly, not directly knowing it, but maybe he just lets Freeza do the dirty work aware of the fact that he is going to destroy a planet. Perhaps he rather enjoyed letting Freeza do his work for him and now he is just upset that his best "agent" has been destroyed by Goku so now he has to actually do something. I mean cats are lazy lol.

Also, he awakens after 39 years. So isn't that about how long ago it was that planet vegeta was destroyed at this point in the series? Meaning maybe he saw Freeza's handywork and just let him continue on doing his job?

Makes too much sense, actually. It also puts Freeza and Buu into much clearer, more meaningful pigeonholes in the grand scheme of the universe that Battle of Gods is laying out.

Also it's interesting how the Oracle Fish predicted that a strong warrior, presumably Goku, would appear 39 years later, even though Goku should normally die from a heart virus before that amount of time. Apparently the Oracle Fish's prophetic visions account even for time traveling modifications.

Seconded. Honestly, though, the way the God Hierarchy works in Dragon Ball, something really has to be.

Real question is would Birisu still appear in Trunk's timeline, at least during his lifetime? I'd think not. Trunks probably wouldn't be nearly interesting enough for him.

A relationship chart is included that shows Birusu and Uisu not connected to any of the other gods but each other. “Uisu” is listed with the title of “attendant”, exactly the same as Mr. Popo is to Earth’s God and Kibito to Kaiōshin. What sort of connection he has with the Kaiō and Kaiōshin is enveloped in mystery, but it appears he is a being who can strike fear in even the Kaiōshin, beings themselves who possess abilities beyond human comprehension. The overwhelming power of Birusu, God of Destruction, is said to outdo even that of Goku, who has surpassed Super Saiyan. The God of Destruction’s power is in another dimension altogether.

Now that I know Birusu's based off Toriyama's cat, I'm certain he's not going to be destroyed in this film. He might be defeated, return to his slumber, or become an ally, but I feel like he definitely won't be destroyed.

Even if it's vague, I do appreciate the post.
That description makes me think a lot of the "destroys the common sense of Z" line that floated around months back, which makes me hopeful his power isn't just physical strength alone and that there's some crazy Toriyama-style special powers that Birusu has as well.

They really need to cut down on SSj3.

I know people love it but Goku should only be allowed to activate it at great expense of his life as I have commented before. Otherwise it cheapens the whole transformation.

No, I don't. It really makes no sense for Vegeta to reach SSJ3. Especially if you DO consider GT. And I doubt Toriyama did. SSJ3 was only obtainable because Goku was dead... and Gotenks used magic powers. The only way he could get it is if Birusu gave him SSJ3 through his own powers somehow.

The form is not magical. It is just extremely difficult to realize in the real world for a living person. Goku had to be dead, in other world to accomplish it. Gotenks' fusion is magical which likely gives him a power boost making him able to accomplish the form after Goten and Trunks only seeing it a few times. His moves like the gohst kamikaze attack also are probably only feasible through magical means.

Vegeta could probably attain SSJ3 in other world if he were dead after years of training like Goku. But I don't know if even Goku would have accomplished it if he had stayed alive for those 7 years.

I don't really understand the fascination with characters having to go ssj3. The form really means nothing after DB Heroes and all that whoring out all the ssj3 design what-ifs. So what if Vegeat goes SSJ3? He'll just do the same things he normally does with longer hair and no eyebrows. I would only find it interesting in that if he fought SSJ3 Goku it would put him on equal ground with him, something he wasn't when he was Majin Vegeta. Also maybe he would actually be a threat to Birus. I think it's what happens, the story elements that make the movies good imo. Not if somebody goes SSJ3 or not. And besides, SSJ3 is nothing new, to be truly interesting I'd rather see some kind of new ability or form... new SSJ forms are not going to cut it anymore. We already know there is a "SSJ4" and we've seen SSJ3... upping it to SSJ5 would be so redundant at this point. I sound completely against him going SSJ3, I'm not.

Nowhere is it said that Goku had to be dead or that Gotenks only got it by being magical. Really, really hate that theory, with all the burning intensity of a thousands suns simultaneously going nova.

I wouldn't call Super Saiyan 3 "magical" so much as "unnatural." Being a magic-based being like Gotenks just seems like a good shortcut towards attaining it.

The problem with SSj3 is stamina and strain to the body.

Volume 40, Chapter 4:

Goku:The Super Saiyan 3 I used back there is only supposed to be used in the afterlife. [...] It uses too much energy for this world of time. You instantly get worn out!

Piccolo: Get Dende to restore your energy!

Goku: No, I have to return to the afterlife.

It's a kind of strain not even Dende can restore.

That's for dead Goku. Dende could restore it for a living being, as said later on in the final battle.

Vegeta getting Super Saiyan 3 is something I want to happen too at some point. Every time Vegeta achieves Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Grade 2 and Super Saiyan 2 he get's outclassed by the villain. I don't think Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta would do much to Bils, if Super Saiyan 3 Goku is stopped by his finger.
