I suppose the first hint of this was in the title of the movie. Battle of "Gods"... referring to Goku and Bills.

I just find it too cool to hear Goku referred to as God. Goku reaching God status... wow.

I remember reading or hearing somewhere that they're going to try to get Julian to a preview screening. There might be one in Osaka; I need to check.

If that SSJG form picture is real then I kinda like it. I remember this was the form that most people wanted to see the SSj4 to look like instead the red fur form that we got in GT.

I'm, for some reason, expecting the form to look not too different from regular Super Saiyan, just with some new aura or other crazy effect. Don't know why.

I wouldn't be surprised by that.
Trailers seem to hint that he has a blue aura, which he unleashes while being in base form, which could imply he turns immediately to Super Saiyan God right after talking to Birus.
Then we saw him in the middle of the fight against Birus, having some troubles against a giant ball while looking like a regular Super Saiyan (which would be useless since even Super Saiyan 3 is powerless against Birus).

And given the tracklisting, mentionning that he turns Super Saiyan God first and AFTER that transformation he has some (possibly giant-energy-ball-related) troubles, that form could be as subtle as Gohan's "mystic" form.

But we'll see, it'll be cool even if he doesn't change physically, but I would like to see what a Toriyama-approved ultimate new appearance would look like.

I'm not sure what to think of this "Super Saiyan God"...it sounds abit tacky to me. And the whole back-story seems like it came outta nowhere.

I'm hoping it's more of a one-time use transformation, to battle this new bad guy and leave it at that, but I could live with it if they handled it right (which I'm sure they will). Just glad we didn't get a new fusion.

I dunno, I feel at least from a merchandising perspective that it would have to look least a little different than the forms he currently has.

It should or else I feel it would be lazy. I think it should not look like False SSJ or Ultimate Gohan(ish), it should look unique and definitely not have longer hair then SSJ3. I also hope the eyebrows come back as well for the form.

I mean, God offered Goku his job/title/position back at the end of the 23rd tournament. He technically could have reached "God Status" back then if he'd wanted it.

I mean, God offered Goku his job/title/position back at the end of the 23rd tournament. He technically could have reached "God Status" back then if he'd wanted it.

AKA watching the earth and doing pretty much nothing . Its technically god status but it isn't really anything special when literally every Z fighter (except Videl and Mr. Satan if you count them) become stronger then the earth god by the middle of the Saiyan saga of Z.

Also I think I heard Toriyama say in a recent interview Yamcha was the best cook in the series. I'm surprised Goku wouldn't go see him more often for food if he was the best cook. Yamcha is useful to Goku now. Well he also said Gyūmaō was also the best so we need a tie breaker.

I guess this makes Yamcha DB's answer to OP's Sanji? Sanji also started out cool and ended up having quite a bit of Yamcha-badluck over the past couple arcs, though things are starting to look up again for him now.

Agreed.
If the hair was longer than ssj3 that'd really get in the way of fighting. @_@ I mean, it'd look pretty, but it wouldn't be very practical for close combat.
I'm curious as to if it'll have a brand new outfit too and I'm currently leaning towards it being a fairly large possibility; both for merchandise and for eye-catching.

I want the eyebrows to come back for the new form so badly.

You're totally right! Hopefully they'll make more movies starring Super Saiyan 2 God Goku, and then 3 after that. And who knows, maybe we'll get to see a new series where we see Super Saiyan 4 God Goku at his last supper.

We see the Oozaru, but we don't know if it's real or a metaphorical illusion for the inner Saiyan power. With the blue aura, is that just for the transformation or are the abandoning the golden flames for this new form? Is it a linear transformation from SS3, or is it a different branch entirely from one of the other stages like "Legendary Super Saiyan"? Is Super Saiyan God even going to be blond? Will it be like an self induced "Ultimate" form for Goku's base? I don't even know where to being to speculate for what I want here...

What about tattoo marks appearing onto his body when Goku goes SSJ God form? If they decide to make tattoo marks for SSJ God form, what kind of tattoo mark we like to see? On topic again. How many months after release does a movie typically take to go on Dvd(or even blu-ray)? I've been trying to steer away from this thread because I don't want any spoilers besides the pictures shown and the trailer they had. Hearing interviews about the movie and possible summaries of the movie is the last thing I want to read. I know when it is releasing in theaters there, but how long would the range be until we could legally buy and watch it here do you guys estimate? Is a media release 5-6 months after the end of March safe to say?
