Well, judging by the track listings, it seems it won't be. I hope it won't end up like movie 12 as well.

In addition to the track listings, the way Toriyama's comments read, the fight sounds like it'll last longer than Janemba vs Gogeta.

I look forward to how Birusu, Uisu, the Super Saiyan God form and story are handled video game-wise (not counting Heroes/Zenkai Battle Royale).

Speaking of Gogeta, seeing as how we got the announcement of Super Saiyan God, I'm guessing that completely evaporates any chances of the fused bad ass making a return... bummer
...
Keeping on the topic of fusion I wonder how badly Gotenks is gonna get decimated? Gohan and his hair situation a side Gotenks was definitely top tier in the Boo arc, in fact all it took was for Boo to absorb the brat in order for him to over power the Mystic Slacker.

I don't do much power level stuff (at all, really), but wasn't Gotenks about as strong as Goku? They could both go ssj3, so...?
I think Gotenks would probably last about as long as regular ssj3 Goku would.

Well its debatable, most people say Gotenks was stronger, others say they were even and then theres the smaller group of people who believe that Goku still had a small advantage over Gotenks doe to experience.

General consensus is that Gotenks is (a fair bit) stronger than Goku, since not only does Goku expect the fusion to be stronger than him, and Gotenks is capable of going toe-to-toe with the same form of Boo that Goku wants nothing to do with.Chuquita wrote:I don't do much power level stuff (at all, really), but wasn't Gotenks about as strong as Goku? I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

A few pages back, I recall someone saying something about the re-appearance of Kaio's Planet being mentioned in one of the coloured Manga Q&As. Can anyone elaborate?

I wonder if Gotenks will end up turning SSJ3, I had him about 8-10 x stronger than Goku, so it would be surprising if Goku has become that much stronger in such a short amount of time.

I had a 'Battle of Gods' dream too. I heard people cheering from the theater room 'Battle of Gods' is shown.
Could this movie make people really, really happy? I could see peoples say to themselves "I never thought I get to see more Dragon Ball Z again." *applies the happy tears* when seeing it in theaters.

I would agree with you in terms of the TV series. In terms of the movies however, I couldn't care less if they bastardised the canon of the show. I just take the movies for what they are, that is to say, mindless escapismAnimeMaakuo wrote:Dragon Ball Z should've ended at the Freeza saga. Everything after that got way too carried away. Now we have Super Saiyan God. Hopefully they stop making movies after this one.

I really wish this to be true. Maybe not cheering in joy, but at least bring a smile to most people when leaving the theater.

In my view, the series hit its peak at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. If they wanted to quit while they were ahead and not "bastardize the canon" they should have stopped there and not bothered with DBZ at all.b_boult wrote:I would agree with you in terms of the TV series. It's funny how perceptions change as we grow older. I'm sure many would point to several instances where Dragon Ball should have ended, but really, aren't most of you (sorry for my assumption) looking at it with the view of someone who's seen all of Dragon Ball, and who's had time to dissect it and over think it?
Let's think back when we were kids, most of us were pretty exited when DBZ brought a new transformation, or a new character appeared, or a new saga started, no matter how silly or redundant or full of plot-holes they seem to us nowadays. And when it finally ended, we were sad, weren't we? We wanted it to continue.
I think Dragon Ball had the run it needed to have. There were some arcs that were better than others, but at the end of the day, all of Dragon Ball entertained us, or we wouldn't be here talking about it, so long after it finished. Nor would we be here talking about a new movie if we didn't still want more Dragon Ball...

Yes, Goku visited me once. He turned to me while I was still speechless, and said, "You've drank too much"...

Well, I suppose the beauty of a change of series is that even if you happen to believe the canon of Dragonball was unfaithfully adapted by the Z series, you can still say "I like Dragonball" without having to equivocate and provide qualifications. With Dragonball Z, I feel I have to qualify my love of the show to a certain extent, given that I found many of the episodes after the Frieza arc average or terrible.Herms wrote:In my view, the series hit its peak at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. Fogdark is right. I actually I'm seeing this with my teenage heart. Watching the original tournaments made me feel a young fangirl again. I liked all the gag elements of JSAT so I'm not worried about the "silliness" some people are complaining about. I just want to see new stories of the Z gang again.
