Budokai 3 (Dragon Arena) can really be frustrating.

Post by Kendamu » Wed Mar 15, 2006 9:43 pm

I just got done losing to 5 Saibamen in Dragon Arena for the millionth time. They tend to "break in" every once in awhile. I'm like lvl 64 or something and I'm going up against lvl 94 enemies. I had the item that refills 3 whole lifebars while I already start off with like 6 or something.

So, somehow, 5 Saibamen defeated me when I had 9 lifebars. What's worse is there was one point where he was volleying me around like 4 times back and forth and I looked at his Ki while he was doing it. He had virtually NO KI for 3 of those teleporting volleys. What's up with that?!

I'm going to break something if I get cheated like that again... yet it's so fun at the same time!!!

It seems that the better you do within that battle or the more prepared you are for it the harder they are to beat!

Break-ins are of a higher level than what you are fighting. At a level 94 opponent, I'd say the break-in culprit would be passed level '99' (As in, they'd have more than 99 'level points' but wouldn't be maxed, like the level 99 opponents are). So they could have maxed out Ki.

I've found Saibamen and Cell Jr.s the toughest of enemies. They're sepreated nature gives them an edge. Even if you pull off a kill combo, Dragon Rush, or Ultimate that does over 1,000 dmg all you're gonna do is 1,000 dmg. Gives them a good strong advantage.

Right. Are the characters we build up ourselves only allowed 99 build-up points or can we surpass 99 as well?

All we can have is 99 stats, though the GH Piccolo Daimao, Angel Goku, Armoured Trunks and Super Vegeta are all about level 120. Someone really needs to make a code generator for Budokai 3. =P

Some characters are played by the CPU much better than others. The ones I noticed being extremely difficult to beat are:

Saibaiman
Cell Jr.
Uub
Omega Shenron
#18
Kid Goku
"Destiny"... people claim by force what they desire, wreak havoc upon others in order to acquire it... and they call it "destiny".

Do you have to do the final ending for Goku in Dragon Universe (with finding all of the Black Star balls, etc) to get Dragon Arena? Cuz other than that ending, I've beaten everyone's Dragon Universe mode.

I think you just have to complete all the story modes.

The Dragonballs from GT. I don't remember them being in Budokai 3.

They aren't. You just have to find all dragonballs, so you can fight omega shenron. I think that is what he means with the Black dragonballs.

Dragon Arena's a bitch, but if you want to unlock Saibaman and Cell Jr....then you should be fighting against people twice your level. This way a break-in is easier and you'll be able to unlock these two early, which is actually the only thing to do in Dragon Arena.

One of the more pointless Budokai extra modes.
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.
