Can't believe that we're just over a week out from the film's first public screenings! Can't wait, time has just flown by! Can still vividly remember how this whole thing unfolded; from the countdown site to the first teaser, to the leaked poster, and yet there's still a looong way to go.

Makes me wonder what's gonna happen next year with the 30th Anniversary of the Manga.

Now that's advertising.

Wow.

That's pretty cool, to see Dragon Ball get an advertisement like that.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

It's strange how we have shots of base/SSJ Goku beaten up with no orange shirt, and shot(s?) of SSJ God Goku with his gi completely intact.

Definitely not base hair, but then again he does seem to be firing a Kamehameha, which usually pushes his base hair back...Hmm.

"A scan has been released", they say, as if it fell from the blue like manna from heaven. No; someone scanned and leaked to the Internet an image from this coming Monday's Weekly Shōnen Jump. There's a difference. :problem:

That said, I'm far more intrigued (and exasperated) by the notion that there's going to be a "Super Long Interview" with Toriyama in next week's (and following weeks'?) Weekly Jump. I'm really hoping that the Nozawa/Matsumoto/Nakagawa interview in Saikyō Jump, which comes out the same day, is a repeat of the one from V-Jump that I already translated, only with fewer kanji.

And no, I'm not going to translate Toriyama's answer here if that means it's going to end up on Saiyan Island (credited to one of their spurious "sources", if anyone at all) before it goes up on Kanzenshuu.

Personally, I care because aside from the fact that what they're doing is a dick move, they're gaining money from the ads on their site.

So that you will put it on SaiyanIsland without giving any credit to "Jedi-sensei"?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I would be surprised if this doesn't happen at some point in the movie. Shirtless Goku is practically a hallmark of 'things are getting serious'.
Yes.... serious. Serious. 8)

:( I would have liked Ssj3 with a tail. *sigh* Anything with a tail really.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

Wait, wait. If there's a video of the show, can anyone find out if it mentions international screenings for sure?
