Was Nappa stronger than post-Kaiou trained Gokuu?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Kaiou-ken; it's not increasing battle power at all; it's using what's already inside you from what I remember, so maybe that's just what Nappa and maybe others did to an extent without realizing it and possibly thought they were just using their "full" power.
Hmm, it's an interesting idea, but it's not how I've been looking at it. I look at it more like Kaboom did above: Nappa's power just became easier for the Earthling's to sense, nothing more than that. I think of it as something that everyone does naturally--the difference between standing around and being in the heat of battle.

Like how something might look all fuzzy and out of focus before you put on your glasses. Same kind of deal. At this point in the series, the characters might not be able to tell exactly just how strong their enemies are until they actually ramp up and start using their power, which makes it more "clear."
I've re-read the fight with Nappa, and, I still can't get over how Vegeta seemed to think Nappa had a chance against Gokuu if we were to assumed the Daizenshuu level had him right with 4,000 for his max level. He wasn't just passively observing Nappa and Gokuu, either, he seemed to legitimately think Nappa could handle him, even telling him to calm down as if that was going to help. I'm sorry, but, I'm starting to re-consider that Nappa was >4,000 and maybe even over 8,000 or even 9,000 if Vegeta honestly thought Nappa should've been able to handle him.

I have no problem accepting Nappa at 4,000 against everyone else but Gokuu after he calmed down, but it can be dismissed as his battle power before he calmed down/ powered up against Gokuu or maybe even against the Zetto Senshi, but I doubt that. Maybe it was an inconsistency with power levels, but I doubt it because, like I've said with the Vegeta-thing. It's not like the battle power levels on the Daizenshuu are always consistent with their most powerful battle powers at the time too.

Well, that's why I figure Vegeta was just patronizing Nappa. After all, as soon as he says that, he starts complaining to himself about how he'll end up having to take over. Even Goku was talking down to Nappa the entire time, even encouraging him in a way.

A prime example of "actions speak louder than words," if you ask me.
