Ssj3 Vegeta
Re: Ssj3 Vegeta
I like to think that SS3 cannot be mastered. It's such an extreme transformation that it consumes all your power just to use the form, leaving nothing left over to use in controlling it.

I'm in the same boat myself. Though I wouldn't rule it out completely.Rocketman wrote:I like to think that SS3 cannot be mastered. It's such an extreme transformation that it consumes all your power just to use the form, leaving nothing left over to use in controlling it.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

In the prospect of achieving SSJ3, which is the context of this discussion, it wouldn't be regarded as impressive at all. Evidently Vegeta has problems surpassing his limits, which is why he has to resort to being possessed and ultimately praises Goku's ability to overcome them. If his muscles had already hit their limit, and that approach to training is practically all he's been augmenting his power with so far, than unless he finds another way to adequately heighten his ki, the possibility of attaining SSJ3 is completely closed off.TheMightyOzaru wrote:Son_Gohan, Vegeta being stronger than a ssj2 Gohan that has been slacking is already impressive given his training methods. OK... Muscles don't determine a ki limit nor do they prevent Vegeta from figuring out how to go ssj3. Babidi's spell pulled out Vegeta's dormant potential. Unless you are implying Gohan lost his mystic power up when he died, Vegeta kept his just like Gohan kept his, which he did according to Battle of Gods.
It's shown with Spopovich that Babidi's spell grants potential to do things that never could've incurred naturally, so it could be perceived as the determining factor. When an athlete takes a PED, it allows them to surpass their limits, but what growth they make is bound to that external agent. Once they stop using it, all their gains go along with it.

We also don't know a few factors about the nature of the transformation to begin with. It might requires conditions exclusive to the afterlife (and/or fusion) to reach. Does it speak less of Vegeta if the form is impossible to access without training in the heavens?

I bet Vegeta would think so.Duo wrote:We also don't know a few factors about the nature of the transformation to begin with. He looks pretty unappealing in that state anyway. I guess I'd rather see something more interesting and different like what happened with Gohan. Super Saiyan 3 is more novel if only a couple (very contrasting) characters can use it.dario03 wrote:I bet Vegeta would think so.Duo wrote:We also don't know a few factors about the nature of the transformation to begin with. SSJ3 is a very difficult transformation to master. I think Goku being dead benefited to his training in heaven because he did not have to worry about putting a lot of tension and stress on his body while training to achieve SSJ3 because he was already dead; he cannot die again. Goku even admitted this indirectly during his bout with Kid Buu when he tried to power up to a full power SSJ3; he couldn't do it because he was more limited in his living body then he was in his non-living body.

Indeed. In a way, gaining his life back brought Goku down closer to Vegeta's level because his ultimate state runs out of Ki in like a second. It's more like a Kaio-ken then a transformation in that light.GogetaSSJ2 wrote:SSJ3 is a very difficult transformation to master. Re: Ssj3 Vegeta
Super Saiyan 3 does have "can't stay like this forever" which means can only used temporary just like Kaio-Ken and many other techniques and transformations that doesn't intend to stay forever.
