Broli the Legendary Super Saiyan God

DNA wrote:True, that is a valid point. Like I said, with time and persuasion, Broli could change for the better.
But TheMightyOzaru, Broli has been said to be the closest aproximation the Saiyans have for a god or at the very least a deity. I don't think that would classify as an entity of pure evil as I really don't see Broli in that way, especially since we are shown beings completely and purely "made" of evil along the franchise. Not saying that your point is not valid, it does seem to fit nicely.
Broly has never really been deemed a God though. The Daizenshuus deem the Legendary Ssj as a God but Broly isn't necessarily THE legendary Ssj. Broly is just a destructive freak of nature. Ssj God is the true legendary Ssj. Demons are the opposite of God's in most manga/anime so it makes sense that he is the "demon Ssj" with all his attributes being the complete opposite of Ssj God. He also appeared when a large majority of the Saiyans were bad people. I honestly don't see how you don't deem Broly as pure evil. He is a destruction craving psychopath that kills for fun. As for Goku not being born pure of heart, that doesn't matter. He is pure of heart now seeing as how he can ride the Kintoûn and survived Akuman's evil beam. Also since when are God's immortal in this series? Kaioshin isn't. Broly isn't human, he is a Saiyan.

I simply don't see him as a psychopath. Especially since his whole race enjoys killing. Broli was shown to enjoy destroying large scale things like planets, psychologically torturing people like his own father did and truly enjoys battle like all Saiyans like him do. Look at the two movies he appears in. How many opportunities did he have to kill each and every living being that appeared there? Did he? No. Not even the Shamoans.

I think you should watch the film again, he has an uncontrollable desire to kill. Paragus had to keep a mind control device on him. Also I'm not sure if you noticed but Saiyans generally never act like Broly.

I've watched the movie enough times. You are seeing things from a human and earthling point of view. You have to see it from the Saiyan society's point of view. In that point of view, Broli is simply a guy who's got more power than usual and makes use of it.
You say he enjoys killing when we saw Broli kill a single person, his father Paragus who had been using him as nothing more than a tool for the majority of his life. His father is the true monster here and Broli was justified to kill him in a sort of "crime of passion" kind of way. So I don't really see where you are getting your argument. If you say he's sadistic, I'll totally agree with you, he is shown to enjoy inflicting pain to others. But a psychopath? Why? How? I simply do not see it. Again, he had plenty opportunities to kill many people with no repercussions whatsoever and he didn't. He could have killed the Shamoans, or Kuririn, Mutenroshi, he also had plenty opportunities to kill Trunks. But he didn't, he far more enjoys inflicting pain towards others than actually killing them. Furthermore, he's not truly torturing anyone physically, he is inflicting pain through battle, which, again, every Saiyan enjoys. So psychopath is too strong of a word to describe him, I believe.

Uh I don't see where you are getting this argument that the Saiyan society would find his behavior socially acceptable :eh: . Saiyans are bad sure but they enjoy fighting, not senseless murder and destruction. They destroy or conquer planets because Freeza tells them to do it. Look at Vegeta, Paragus, Bardock, his crew, Saiyan Society, King Vegeta, etc, they are not mindless killing machines that kill without stop. Broly is not your average joe, he is a monster and a freak of nature that has an uncontrollable blood lust. You can see it in Paragus' flashbacks. The reason he doesn't kill any of the Zetto Senshii right off the bat is because he also enjoys inflicting pain, you can be a murderous psychopath and still enjoy torturing something before it dies. I also don't think it's too farfetched to say the Saiyan race in general is pure evil since it depends your definition of pure evil.

I tend to view Broly the same way I view Super Buu and Andrei Chikatilo. Totally depraved maniacs who inflict horrific deaths out of personal gratification and are instinct-driven killers.

(Why do I view saiyans as serial killers?)

Probably because one of the first things we see a Saiyan do is demand that Goku assemble a pile of 100 fresh corpses.

Brolly has a great design but no much else. He's kinda like the Boba Fett of the series. If only they executed those fights better.

I just wish there was more to him. I really like DB Multiverses take on Broly. His Ki adjusts to his opponent no matter who it is. He can only be K.O.ed or killed if the attack is much stronger than his current Ki output because it can't rise in time to save him.

There's a reason why King Vegeta sent to kill Broli and Paragus. King Vegeta and the rest of the Siayans were NOT OK AT ALL with the destructive force that Broli represented. Heck... just see Vegeta's mental breakdown when Broli frees himself of his father's control. He was in despair. Completely paralyzed by what Broli's power entailed. "He's going to kill us all", "It's hopeless".

Saiyans regarded other lifeforms as little more than garbage, but *generally* looked out for each other. Nappa actually suggested to revive Raditz, but Vegeta brushed it off. Nappa actually thought Vegeta would take him away when his back got broken by Goku. Bardock and his team cared for each other enough for Bardock to seek to avenge them. Hell, he went back to his planet and tried to warn his fellow Saiyans to save them. King Vegeta was certainly not happy he had to surrender Prince Vegeta to Frieza.

They had a sadistic and ruthless culture, yes, that's a given. But think about this... Raditz and Kakarot had the same mother; Vegeta and Tarble did also seem to share the same mother. Saiyan actually seemed to care enough to keep the same mate(politically at least?)... AND they know fear.

They were sadistic selfish bastards, yes but they were emphatic enough to keep ties between them.

Even though Vegeta didn't show friendship/camaraderie for Raditz and Nappa... he feared Frieza. Fear in the face of death.

Broli has never shown any of that... not even FEAR of death. There's nothing you could have used to calm him. Is like trying to reason with Kid Buu... it would have been useless.
