We really should get this up, the longer this isn't a thing the harder its gonna be to catch up to the Dragon Ball Wiki in content, and with the new movie coming out and Mr. Toriyama stating that he might continue the series if it does well, we're going to want it as fleshed out as possible so we can focus on new content. Its said "coming soon" for like years...

First off I agree in the sense that it annoys me having to go to Dragon Ball Wikia for certain content that I can't find here. But catching up to Dragon Ball Wikia? C'mon buddy it's not a contest. We just need to take things slow and steady and with time people will see where the real quality content is.

As for your final comment, it's saying "coming soon" since the 1st of April of last year, as far as I've noticed. Unless there was a similar project from DaizenshuuEX or kanzentai and not from the fans.

How are we gonna handle video game content. On Db wiki they have articles for every little item(well the aura changes in RB) in the game. Should we just have a overall sing article that lists the in game stuff with brief to the point descriptions?

As described before, a real wiki only branches to a new article if the information starts overwhelming the original one. DB Wikia just creates pages willy nilly for every single thing, even if the article is composed of a single paragraph. It's simply ridiculous. We should not compare anything to DB Wikia, we should not take it as an example of what's right or wrong. We should do our thing and ignore their thing.

Not rushing you guys or anything, but I am curious to just how near ready this wiki is. It's almost April and there still isn't any word of it coming up (actually) soon. I'l use the DS as a reference for my question.

I suppose I can provide a more concrete answer, although I can't really put in terms of development of a Death Star.

I honestly haven't put in near as much time as I had planned a few months back, mostly thanks to Battle of Gods. You also have to remember that our Wiki is essentially being built from the ground up. I started out about as bare bones as you can get, starting out only with a general established Wiki structure. Here's were we sit right now:

• Wiki software installation -- 100%
• Wiki integration with Forum -- 100%
• Wiki structure established -- 50-60%
• Wiki templates/CSS stylings/code base -- ~2%
• Working layout -- 95%

The layout is essentially done, with a few minor tweaks needed here and there; mostly CSS related. The Wiki is integrated with the Forum database, so Forum users can login just as they can on the main site. Unfortunately, that was all the easy part. I was going pretty good for a while, until I hit a very unexpected issue. After spending about a month and half trying to resolve it (even our host couldn't figure it out), I figured out it was because the Wiki's database did not install correctly, so I had to re-install the entire Wiki, again. That was a nice setback, but now the issue has been resolved and I'm well past it. Right now we're stuck on rolling out some templates for general pages, such as characters, episodes, chapters, movies, etc. This is what's going to take the longest time, since we're starting from scratch, and is also the most boring, monotonous work ever. We had started, but got lambasted with Battle of Gods stuff, so work on the templates has been temporarily suspended until we're all sane again. Once we get started on that again we'll begin testing everything out amongst the staff, and when we're comfortable, slowly roll it out to forum members. In short, we're close, yet not so much.

To be fair a new DBZ movie is a lot more exciting then a wiki that has a page full of accurate information on Appule.

Any foresight into how the main page is gonna change when the wiki opens? I mean, it's going to be a little redundant to have an episode guide, battle power guide, etc, on-site when you can also just point to the wiki that I'm sure will have a page detailing close to or exactly the same thing. Is there going to be a subtle switch of links so that traffic gets sent to the wiki instead if they click on the cast guide for example? In short, is the wiki going to absorb the majority of the site information and the general flow of things changed to new guides = authoritative content pages on the wiki?

How are you going to deal with controversial quesions such as Pure Buu vs Super Buu, or Piccolo>Base Saiyans? Are you going to acknowledge both points in the article, or will you go with the general consensus among users?

Well, judging by what I've seen on the forums, I can see the issues coming up. I don't really know what kind of layout you'll be using for the character pages though. Will they have a power analysis like the DB Wiki has for its articles, or will they go strictly by what is given in the official media without analyzing the information any further?

You cannot disagree with facts, they are immutable and absolute. Fan speculation on power levels and who is stronger than who has no place in a proper, professional wiki. Just because it will be fan made, there is no reason it cannot be professional.
