Dragonballs history?

Post by Rayodball » Tue Apr 09, 2013 3:04 pm

What is the official home of the Dragonballs?
While reading a network for the story I came across that the Dragonballs were a gift to Ro Kaioshin from the Namekkus [Spanish, for Namekian]... But is it true?

If there is a post with this topic... Where is it?
Thanks for your time

No, that's not said in the series or guides or anything. In the series the Elder Kaioshin just says that he warned the Namekians not to use the dragon balls for the sake of other planets; only the Namekians were trusted to use the dragon balls, since they were straight-laced enough to not misuse them.

Here is a very long thread of mine that goes over the history of, well, more or less everything in the DB world. The relevant part about the Elder Kaioshin, Namekians, and dragon balls:
Circa 75 MILLION YEARS AGO
The Dragon Balls are created

--On Planet Namek, members of the Namekian Dragon Clan create “Dragon Balls”, magical artifacts which can grant any wish. Dragon Ball sets consist of seven balls, each one containing a different number of stars, and when all seven are gathered a dragon will appear and grant wishes. The East Kaioshin of the time fears the way in which the Dragon Balls confuse the natural order, and allows only the Namekians to use them, since they are the only ones he trusts to use them responsibly. He also warns the Namekians against using the Dragon Balls for the sake of other planets.
[Ref: Elder Kaioshin explains warning the Namekians in Chapter 509. This must have been before his imprisonment, so I’m using the Daizenshuu 7 dating for that. It’s possible though that this occurred millions of years prior to his imprisonment. Dragon Clan Namekians being the ones who make Dragon Balls is from Chapter 265 and 393.]

Yes, I also had understood that the Dragonballs were created by the same Namekians and not Gods. On facebook someone told me this story, that the gods created them, is told in the game Dragon Ball Online.

Do any of you know something about that?
I have not had the pleasure of playing this game for my MAC does not support TT-TT

------- EDIT
WOOOOW... that good post Herms , many thanks for your help and also to Kamiccolo9

In Dragon Ball Online, Dende splits Earth's Dragon Balls into multiple weaker sets so they cannot be misused (actual reason: so every player can get their own Dragon Balls in the game, natch). So, I guess in a way, he does "create more balls."

No, he doesn't split anything. He just creates new ones...

Dende resolves to deactivate the Dragon Balls.
  • The Elder Kaioshin had already expressed his disapproval of the Dragon Balls—considering them to go against the natural order of the universe, and with the world now at peace, Dende worried having active Dragon Balls around may mean putting the Earth at risk.

AGE 999
In hopes that a savior would appear among the Earthlings, Dende reactivates the Dragon Balls.
  • Dende creates multiple sets of Dragon Balls, weaker than the originals, hoping that the young warriors will benefit from competing over them. The presence of multiple sets allows for warriors of diverse skill levels to have a realistic hope of gathering all seven. Afraid of them being exploited, Dende limits their power, restricting the wishes that can be made.
