Goku's teleportation technique thingie?
So, I've been thinking about this one for quite a time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Goku's ''Shunkan Idou (sp?)'' consist of reverting his body to pure light and travelling in that form, meaning travelling with the speed of light? I've thought about that, but it doesn't make sense. For example, in movie 8, Goku simply teleports to the Southern Galaxy, almost instantly. But wouldn't the Southern Galaxy be hundreds of light years away? Same case with places like New Namek. They would literally have to be lightyears away. And with Shunkan Idou, it would take Goku years to reach places like that. And again, another theory comes into play here.. Just where is Kaiou's place? If my memory serves me correctly, each time Goku teleports to another planet, he does it via Kaiou's place. This could mean this ''lightyear'' system doesn't work there, and he doesn't have to worry about distance if he travels from Kaiou's.
But I'm probably either over-analyzing things, and this is just a consistency error, or my theory concerning Shunkan Idou is wrong. So which is it?

He didn't transport via Kaio's when he was travelling back to Earth from Yadrat. He implies that he would have got there no problem, but he would have to be REALLY close to Earth for that to happen. Earth to the sun is about 7 light minutes, and a lot can happen in 7 minutes. Hell, Goku and Freeza could have their entire Namek fight again, with 2 minutes to spare. *cough*
So, I'm going with the whole "instantly disappearing and reappearing" theory.

I'll go out on a limb and say that SRG didn't come up with the concept of "the box".
I don't know what the actual origin is, but the idea is that you're put in a small box with no light for an extended period of time. You can't move, you can't see, you can't do anything, really.
Oooh, possibly the Great Escape. Didn't they through the guy a ball so that he'd have something to do?

I thought the origins came from those little square compartments they put prisoners in in the Tower of London, as a method of torture.PsyLiam wrote:I'll go out on a limb and say that SRG didn't come up with the concept of "the box".
