George Lazenby is pretty underrated. I mean, uhh...

One bond I like is the one between Gohan and Videl. As far as couples go, they're the only one that actually feels believable and developed to me. Also Gohan and Piccolo, but I'm not sure what I can say about them that hasn't already been said.

I really enjoy the Buu/Satan relationship, too. It's meant to be a comedic one, obviously. But in addition to the humorous aspect of it, you can really feel a genuine sense of friendship and concern for each other.

I just can't help but see them as something like a kid and his favorite babysitter. Though you have to wonder which is which.

I'm also going to have to say Goten and Trunks. *points to avatar* They just have that sense of an adamantium strength friendship that no force in the multiverse could destroy, and it sort of makes you sad that Mirai Trunks never got to have that...

I know what you mean, though it always struck me as more of a George and Lenny relationship.

C'mon, man! Buu isn't that retarded, is he? Buu may talk funny, but I guess he's quite smart. I think.

Come to think of it, Buu does show some similarities to Lennie. I mean, he does like dogs, right? It's funny... I always expected Buu to be the one who crushes his dog (he does have overwhelming strength)!

For me, the relationships in DB are what make this series. I love the character interactions; the bonds shown between father and son; romance, friendships, and even rivalries (like every good shonen manga. XD)

I like Gohan and Piccolo, Vegeta and Bulma... Trunks and Gohan in the future storyline. But my favorite out of all has to be Ten and Chaozu's relationship. ^^ I'm a total sucker for their pure friendship, theirs which is more father-son than anything else.

Goku and Kuririn- Best friends 'till the very end. I could very much feel the pain Goku felt when he found Kuririn dead at the 22nd Budokai.

I agree. Goku was super pissed when he found Kuririn dead. He was so closed to Kuririn, he didn't even have to see him get killed to know something was wrong. He felt it.

See, I think the opposite.

Anyway, the Vegeta/Gohan bond always seemed wonderfully understated, even though it has subtely motivated the two characters at times and pushed the story, from time to time. It's less obvious, but it's there, and to me it's one of the more compelling facets of Vegeta's character.

I second you on that one. Vegeta seems to respect Gohan a lot more than he does most people (esp. Goku). I think this one's biggest moments are when 1) Vegeta apologizes to Gohan during Cell's "post-mortem" return, and 2) Vegeta's fighting Buu to avenge Gohan's "death."

Yep, gotta agree with that one. Vegeta also saved Gohan when Frieza in his final form shot his beam and only Vegeta saw it. He had no obligation, but he did it anway. OMG character development!! :D

I'm going to go with the future Gohan and future Trunks bond as being my favorite. It was really compelling, Gohan was his sensei, his friend, and in many ways like a big brother. Gohan felt so strongly that Trunks would one day surpass him that he was willing to trade his own life to preserve him, and Gohan's death became a focal point in rest of Trunks' life.

In a way I always saw their bond as a kind of contiuation of the "uncle-nephew" relationship that Gohan had shared with Vegeta, and it made sense that after Vegeta's death Gohan tried to step in and be the strong male role model that he needed.
