DBGT: Golden Oozaru?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Baby says Vegeta can't control himself. Vegeta is shown not controlling himself. The two events support each other. There's no real grounds to say Baby is wrong as far as GT is concerned, and Goku doesn't contest it. Goku also fully believes that Vegeta has lost control later.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

As I said, Vegeta's quote also works if he had been out of control and just reigned it in.

Well then we'll just have to agree to disagree. It easily sounds to me like Vegeta was trolling around. The way I see it, Golden Oozaru was like the first SSJ transformation, needing intense rage to start. Goku could not control himself, so when he turned Oozaru, he was a mindless monster with burning rage, and immediately went Golden Oozaru. However, Vegeta was in control the entire time, so he needed to "manually" so to speak, transform into SSJ as Oozaru, going Golden Oozaru. Or explain why Vegeta didn't immediately go Golden Oozaru like Goku but needed to reign himself in first.

Vegeta hadn't transformed in years he most likely lost control of the transformation momentarily.
Perhaps the unexpected transformation caused Goku to transform into a SS1 in Great Ape transformation. Vegeta was forced into the form so no time to control it or SS1 Henshin.

At 2:45, Vegeta says he's "the Prince of all Saiyans, I could never allow my reason to be overpowered by the primal mind."
That sounds like what I was remembering. I agree with Saiga: that's something a character could say after they gain control of themselves.
