By the way Liam, about your avatar. So in other words, you're sending everyone a subtle message that you've got the handsomest face in the world?

That would certainly be a lot less embarrassing then just three people singing. Except one problem, as EX stated, he doesn't know what type of fans he's going to get at the panel. Will they be into the original Japanese or the English dubbed version? Maybe they'll even be completely new to DB, period? That means that if it's mostly people into the dubbed, they won't be that familiar with "Head-Cha-La" and then if there are "sub" people and "dub people", the panel will end up making the "dub" people feel cut off. And then if the majority of the crowd is totally new to DB, well, they'll have no idea what the heck is going on. Of course, EX and Co. could always have everyone sing along to "The GT Rap" and watch the riots start!

Well Amy, are you saying that you're a...whatever that is?
As for the panel, there's always the old botcon standby: You could do a MST3K thing, over one of the movies or something. But it'd be very tricky to pull off.
Howsabout a comparison of the various DB products around the world? You could show what advantages the FUNi DVDs have over the Dragonboxes, and vice versa, for instance.

Just a thought for the panel that I'd like to put out there:
I think it would be a neat introduction if we had some sort of video that highlighted all of the important moment from the series. I was thinking "damn, how are we going to find the time to edit that?"
Then I realized that the Project Doomrider DBZ AMV project covers all of the DBZ sagas and all of the important moments in one easy and fun-to-view package! So, maybe showing the completed project (provided it's finished before the con) as an intro would be a fun way to start the panel.

You mean my Japanese Tora monster Liam? Of course not! I just have it because I think he's cute and I'd like to have one for a pet.

By that logic, EX would be Shinji's daddy (forget his name :p), Meri would belong on Excel Saga, and I would be non-existant.

I was just wondering EX, how big this particular convention is? I mean do you have any rough idea as to how many people you might get attending the panel from how many people attend this convention? I'm asking because I figure it might affect exactly what and how you might want to present things. It might give all of us a better idea of what else to suggest.

This is the third year of the convention. They got about 1000 people their first year, and 1500 people last year. I'm not sure what their expectations are for this year...
For the AMV panel last year... it was the VERY last thing at the ENTIRE convention (other than closing ceremonies), but I'd say we got about 40 people, which ain't too shabby. I'm pushing for much better timeslots (I'm pretty sure the AMV panel will get a good one, at least), and with a topic like DB at a con with lots of kids... probably get good attendence. Yes, a lot of children go to the con, so they're mostly going to be dubbies, I'm sure. Be a great chance to address rumors!

Thought of some ideas. About presenting the topic on why the series is popular, I think it would be great to involve the audience in that one. You could have some people state what they really like about the show, what made them get into it in the first place. I know if you happen to get young kids, they'll definitely want to give their reasons. It would be kind of like what you did on the forums here with the "Happy DBZ Web Community Memories" post. Everyone here very much enjoyed that thread.
And for the rumors/myths topic, I think you should make it very humorous, since a lot of the rumors, such Chi-Chi being an undercover Saiyajin and Toriyama being dead are quite funny. Plus, I think that by adding humor, it will really make that topic in the panel stand out, because it really is important to clear these rumors up. I know that your site itself always has the "Rumors Section" up, and I always tell people to go there as proof, but as soon as I've cleared it up for someone, it seems like just a week goes by and I see someone else on the internet saying something like AF is real again. A lot of the times, it's kids who just don't know enough to question the integrity of a site. That's all I have for now.

Ooh a myoosic video! That sounds exciting.
As for panel content...hmmm. I don't have any solid ideas, but I think we're all well-prepared for any topic that might arise. It would be kinda neat to have the Japanese DBZ music playing gently in the background...for ambiance, but that might distract people.
