So what's your favorite DB fighting game from Dimps

I liked Burst Limit a lot. it'd be cool if there was a burst limit sequel.

but i really disliked how limit the stage selection was in burst limit. it was just like 5 maps and that was it. and the drama pieces were really annoying. and the cutscenes were lazily done ... they basically copied and pasted a bunch of the same crap over and over again

Budokai 3.

It actually took a moderate level of skill to be good at and there was plenty to master. From combo cancels to knowing the opportune moment to transform or utilise those combos, it had everything that makes a fighting game actually good.

Burst Limit was fun, I really enjoyed their story mode but the fact that every character plays exactly the same, really put me off playing in the long run. Once you've mastered one character, you've mastered them all. Just a little too easy for my tastes.

No, the characters did not play the same. Maybe a few had similarities, but that was it

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Never played the Budokai games, so I'm going with Street Fighter vs Tekken :P

Or if this is strictly Dragon Ball games, then the fighting mode of Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure.

Budokai 3
Burst Limit
Shin Budokai 2
Shin Budokai

Budokai

I never bother with IW since I hear it sucks and nothing about it made me want to buy it. I remember my local Blockbuster at the time didn't even carry the game, so I could never try it out.

Infinite World is basically Budokai 3 without Dragon Rush, Clashes, or hyper mode. It basically combines Budokai 3 with some Shin Budokai gameplay. A lot of people consider it better than Budokai 3. I'm not sure yet.

Are you kidding me?! It is a well known fact that moveset is the same between characters. Their specials are different but combos and the like are exactly the same.

The characters don't play the same, dude. Tien, for one, was particularly fast from what I remember. Nappa and Broly were heavier fighters. Trunks was different with his sword. Piccolo was different with his stretchy arms. Really, the characters do not play the same.

That's totally superficial though. Again - the skill required to learn an intense amount of combos for every individual character in many other fighting games e.g. Budokai 3 is not present in Burst Limit. Burst Limit's combos are literally the same for every character, hence my 'once you learn one, you've learnt them all'.

I love Burst Limit to death, dude, don't get me wrong but it has its flaws and that's the main one besides its small character roster and lack of Buu arc.

IW for sure. It's a vastly more refined version of B3 without all the crap like Dragon Rush and Hyper Mode- so ultimates are actually useable, it's also a lot faster paced. I also enjoyed the storymode more. It's got it's own problems though with the broken Aura Burst- one can just ban it though from competitive play though...
I never bother with IW since I hear it sucks and nothing about it made me want to buy it.
If you read the crappy reviews they gave the game no bother...It's like they didn't even play it.

I also had a lot of fun with B2.

B3 was also enjoyable but IW is vastly better.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

That and burst clashes and it would easily be better than Budokai 3.

I rank them like this from best to least best:

1. Budokai 3: Simply the best
2. Infinite World: A great fighter that did the best it could with a low budget. Plus a great score and fun minigames and the return of cool cutscenes.
3. Budokai 2: Totally underrated and a fun unique story mode and what-if forms like Tiencha, Gokule, Buugeta etc. The what-if characters in this game were actually imaginative and cool unlike stupid SS3 Broly and Vegeta in the RB series.
4. Budokai: The one that started it all. Simplistic yet always fun to revisit and still the best cutscenes of any DBZ game
5. Shin Budokai: A nice new spin on movie 12 story with some nice tweaks to Budokai 3's gameplay.
6. Shin Budokai Another Road: Decent but OTT Story with some annoying challenges but still a good roster.
7. Burst Limit: Annoying Drama Pieces that couldn't be turned off in story and button-mashy gameplay with a broken ki system that made long combos useless plus bad netcode and small roster. Good score though. And some of the cutscenes were pretty good.
8. Dragonball Evolution the game: Haven't played this but it uses the likeness of characters from the movie while ripping off Shin Budokai gameplay so it can't be great.

Shin Budokai 2 and Burst Limit to me, while the system still isn't what I would like to it to be, It's leagues better than B3 with Infinite World getting there. Also anyone notice how like the cancel system in Budokai 1 seems like it's something the developers only noticed in B3 when they started to make the A.I use it? (And the fact that the games themselves never ever mention this, seriously, If it wasn't for the Internet, I would never know you could preform those at a deep level (even then I still don't find them really deep or fun for that matter, also, It's so boring to watch, specially when it's combo videos)). However if I had to choose one of the pair I mentioned, I'll take SB2, I don't know why, the generall gameplay mechanics seem more complete (and them movesets).

Budokai 3 gotta be my favorite. The first Budokai, and Burst Limit would be next. I put those two in the same place, tie for second. IW is third, has a lot that pertains to the story mode, but needs other fighting modes like a Tournament, same could be said for BL.
