Can Dragon Ball Characters Destroy Stars?

Every single DBZ villain has a new power that could destroy some celestial space object. Beers is probably the only real galaxy buster of the bunch.

Personally, I find the term "galaxy buster" to be kinda dumb.
Vegeta "I can destroy planets!"
Cell "I will destroy the Solar System!"
Proposed Galaxy Buster "I will destroy something that is 99% empty space!"

That's not the point.

The boast is that they can generate so much ki, and make an explosion so powerful, that it can reach far enough to annihilate that much.

Exactly why I think it's ridiculous

Now ask yourself this. Does Akira Toriyama think that? Most likely. But remember the other 1% is hard to destroy. Lastly it's harder to destroy empty space than filled space.

Quite frankly, I doubt Toriyama has given it much thought -- or anything strength related too far beyond "Who's stronger than who?"

Doesn't mean that you can't interpret things for yourself, though.

I think it's pretty obvious that BP and destructive capability don't scale lineally. If it did Vegeta would have to be 1,766.66 times stronger than Roshi, but he's only 100 times stronger.
