I know. ;D To be fair, when Nozawa originally played Son Goku as a child, she was 50. That's not really that bad, especially considering just how good her voice used to sound back then for Son.

Nadolny's Krusty the clown laugh and her unnatural inflections make me shudder, it's even worse than her Gohan. It baffles me why so many seem to love her, and some even dislike Clinkenbeard.

Nadolny. I bought the Movie 1 redub specifically to judge Clinkenbeard's Goku and it did nothing special for me. I'm not yay or nay - just meh.

Nadolny's Goku is singlehandedly responsible for making me like the character. Okay...maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but I know I hated Goku going off of Z's dub. Discovering DB and child Goku was a coup and one I'm very thankful for. I guess I owe Z for being such a hit that it made Funi fully dub Dragon Ball but I'll never be able to look at the two things the same way again. Kid Goku is so great and adult Goku is so...not. Even in Kai i didn't care for him. Nadolny's Goku was so sweet and carefree and I honestly loved the segments when he was just flying around on the Nimbus having fun.

Was her voice and her delivery a bit...cartoony? Yep. And DB is nothing if not a total cartoon. I'm not expecting Ghost in the Shell.

I don't really have a favorite. Nadolny's the only one I've really bothered hearing extensively, and I just can't tolerate her anymore.

What I find amusing, is that the same gets asked all the time about Nozawa's squawks and bwaks. The only actual answer I've seen is "Goku is supposed to be grating to the ear". I think that answer would fit for Nadolny as well.

Regardless of which language you prefer, it seems you're putting up with some sort of bothersome timbre or quirk with the VAs.

I don't really think that Clinkenbeard's voice is all that smooth either, it sounds screechy at times.

Colleen's Goku sounds like a hyper young woman, whose very loud and annoying. It also sounds way too mature and clean of a voice. I agree that it sounds like a boy's version of a Krusty laugh and my next door neighbor growing up laughed just like that. It was kind of a joke in my family, because we could tell who it was and it helped in hide and go seek! I've heard a lot of geeks with their snorting laughter and squealing which I guess it would be considered normal and I couldn't stand it. There's people that hiss when they laugh that makes me want to punch something. I wish those people all had a laugh like Spongebob, compared to how they sounded! Nadolny's Goku's rough laugh is very refreshing from all that. You mentioned the Simpsons. Bart sounds like he's choking to death most of the time when he's laughing, but I really like it! Nadolny's performance can be rough, but it just feels like Nadolny's giving a really heartfelt performance.

It's like the difference between someone giving you a collectible art piece and your little brother drawing you a picture of you playing together. The anatomy can be pretty messed up and the colors can by wacky, but I knew my little brother tried make me something special, and that makes me like it more.

I actually think Nadolny did great for Goku(Her voice in video games are awesome and better than the anime). Captures Goku's high spirit and wild personality. It also captures his fighting side. I find her laugh with Goku adorable. Shit always gets to me.

Her Goku voice is much smoother than Gohan's. In fact, I was put off when I played Budoki Tenkaichi 3 and had Kid Goku vs. Kid Gohan and they sounded identical because they definitely didn't sound the same in the anime.
