Favourite Interaction

Post by dbzfan7 » Sun Sep 22, 2013 4:11 pm

I'm talking about when you select two characters and they have a special banter that isn't the usual "Let's fight." I have no favourite yet but I found the 19 and Chaozu one hilarious as it was just so random and unexpected.

RB2

19: You look like me, stop copying me.

Chaozu: I'm not copying you why would I.

RB2:

Vegeta: Don't think I'll hold back on you just because you're a woman

Zangya: Your man is kinda cute

I was like   :o :o :o  :? :? :) :) :D :D       .

Off the top of my head it would be the interaction between Piccolo and Piccolo Daimao in Sparking Meteor:
Piccolo Daimaio: "Son, once again combine with me and we can make this world ours!"
Piccolo: "Forget about it; I have no intention of merging with you."
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

I'll add every time Krillin calls SSJ cheating. He says the same thing to SSJ3 Goku which is funny.

Really? Chaotzu doesn't say anything like that to Android 19 when I play. Is it possible that US dub have altered additional lines for some characters?
I play in Japanese.

BT3 off meds | The final fight

Ah, the Alpha and the Omega. As all life was created from Chaos...so shall it be DESTROYED!!!

The wails of machines | Singing cold harmony | Shifting air upward | Entranced by the breeze | Light pours like blood | Into a cosmic sea | Of stars crystallized | In a frozen symphony

I play in Japanese.
I was beginning to think this as well. Which makes me wonder what the special character VS quotes are for the Japanese version, compared to the english dub.

Here is a ton of raging blast 2 interactions. Click on 19 or Chaozu and one of them will show off the scene

Another one I found was from Bardock

Bardock: Hehe Oh man what happened to you?!

Monster Zarbon: Geh heh heh...Your life ends here!

The way it's said is so funny.

What is certain is, that most of the lines are dubtitles or whatever that is, because in Japanese, the characters are saying different things lots of the time.
Like when Gohan says to Hachihyakku, that his power is enormous, but subtitles say, that why he is so bitter?
Also, I don't get the line from Chaozu and Android 19. So that means, we have original and dub again in games also.

I always wondered if some of the game banter was dub only or not. But eh, most of them are amusing or interesting enough, so I have no problem with a few liberties being taken there.

As for my favorite, hmm...I seem to recall most of the ones with Kid Goku talking to his older Z-era friends in BT3 being pretty fun. My absolute favorite is probably Kuririn and #18's opening banter though.

Android 18: You won't stay in shape if I don't beat you up every once in a while. (*line is something like that anyway*)
Kuririn: *nervous* D-Don't hurt me baby...

Oh, God, poor Kuririn. I always resisted to think about how his romance turned out to horror with dominating wife in the series. But this is horrible indeed.

What are you talking about. Click on my link and Teen Gohan says the bitter lines in Base, SSJ, and SSJ2.

Also another one is how Vegetto sounds delighted to kick the shit out of Gohan

Vegetto: I'll take you down Gohan..Bring it on

Super Vegetto: Come Gohan! I, Super Vegetto will take you on.

To add more, I like

Baby Vegeta vs Syn Shenron/Omega Shenron

Great Ape Baby's Outro to Majuub

buu Saga Vegetas outro to goku"Yess..Yes, I did it. I finally defeated KAKAROT!"

SSJ4 Vegeta and Super 17

Syn Shenrons intro with kid goku

Goku's intro with that guy from dbz movie 2.

I do feel that SSJ4 Gogeta and Super 17 should have had a special intro quote, even if it were copy+pasted from BT1's what if. . Gogeta's "you're two androids and we're too saiyans. This should be evenly matched".

If TC wants me to list the specific quotes, I can.

Wow, that's awesome. And there's another playlist for outros, though they haven't been completed yet. Are they still being worked on or has the uploader stopped them?

In the SSJ2 Teen Gohan vs Goku one, does Gohan call Goku "Piccolo"?

Yeah, I'm assuming that's some sort of dub issue. If they're changing the dialogue, they may have changed the dialogue for one of Gohan's quotes to Piccolo, without realizing he also used that quote for Goku as well.
