Yeah that was his only line. Krillin, got like Yamcha, one or two lines in. I don't think Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu got any lines at all.Kid Buu wrote:Yamcha spoke in the film, he was the one who noticed the Dragon Ball was missing.BlazingFiddlesticks wrote: Funny when you realized Yamcha and Tenshinhan were in every single Z-fighters pan shot, right up to Beerus' last threat, yet I think neither of them spoke. They should've had the other characters talking in the background or each one of them doing their own thing on the sidelines. The absence of this, hardly ruins the film, just something they could've done better.

By the way, has anyone on this thread mentioned how great Norihito Sumitomo's music was for this film? There are so many wonderful pieces. Isn't he the same composer that did "Episode of Bardock"?

Hiroshi Takaki for Episode of Bardock, Norihito Sumitomo for Battle of Gods.
Sumitomo's music does work with the movie but it's not that great.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but for anyone wondering, "Orenge Hero" is indeed included on the end of the JSAT Special.
By the way, who else got the poster from CD Japan. I'm so glad I did, because I did not expect it to look so freakin' good. The banner is still a little irritating, but the thing's quite a decent size and the quality of the picture is really good. So vibrant.

About the music. I think that there are some good pieces, but overall, I actually enjoyed music from the last two DBZ specials more. There is something non-Dragon Ball in this music and sounds like it's from completely different anime and little generic.
Yeah, last time I said, that I can imagine music like this in Gundam, but not sounding that cheap.
Really don't know, if he was unable, or if he is retired, but if they got Kikuchi to do new score for the movie, the movie will be perfect for me. The music is so not worth mentioning, that I simply ruled it out when writing my thoughts on the movie.
So here we are, one on one, story haters vs one music hater

I too found it disappointing that they couldn't get Kikuchi back for the soundtrack... I mean, come on, the movie is playing so obviously on nostalgia, that the lack of Kikuchi and Kageyama almost seems a bit odd.MCDaveG wrote:Really don't know, if he was unable, or if he is retired, but if they got Kikuchi to do new score for the movie, the movie will be perfect for me. That said, I have come to be a bit more forgiving on the soundtrack over time than I was at first. Though I will say there are quite a few incidental pieces that sound like mediocre 16-bit video game music, there were some pretty good tracks in the final battle. I especially liked "Power of the Super Saiyan God".

... Why wouldn't it be? it's attached to the ending animation, unless you're talking about [gasps] a full version.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:Not sure if it's been mentioned, but for anyone wondering, "Orenge Hero" is indeed included on the end of the JSAT Special.

Talking about side-characters having lines, there is this one moment where Ox King is talking to Oolong and someone else (I forget), and it seems like he says something about 'Bulma' and 'Goku', and then he does this reaction like he's trying to be big and scary. I don't know for sure, but it sounds to me like he's telling the story of how he first met them or something.
And I do wish the supporting cast had had more to do, but I think this is where they fell short in the movie even with what they did have, so it probably would have been even worse if they had tried to cram more in there. Everyone else has their own issues with the movies, but my main one is Gohan's random outfit change and the fact that Pilaf's gang completely disappears until they re-appear at the end.

Since the song was never attached to any of the official online streams when it first released back in '08, he was just confirming that, like on the previous DVD, it's included.B wrote:... Why wouldn't it be? it's attached to the ending animation, unless you're talking about [gasps] a full version.
What I want to know is if the creditless version of the ending was ported over from the old DVD.

Got home from work today to find my copy waiting on the bed for me! Damn good movie, absolutely loved it. Especially anything involving the Pilaf gang. Gohan's Great Saiyaman antics were a riot, and everyone's interactions with Birus were highly entertaining.
Best Dragon Ball movie ever! Now we just have to wait for Funi to get their hands on it and dub it. I'd love to hear Sabat and the crew's take on this, especially since we know they've cast Birus and Whis already.

Sabat's actually a pretty decent singer, depending on the song, like in that example that Gonstead posted. Though, I am expecting it to sound more awkward than Horikawa's, but given that Vegeta is completely awkward and out of his element in that scene as it is, I'm fine with that.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:I don't think I can live through sabat singing...
