I had the hope for Kikuchi as in Gundam, there is original music... then I've realized that it's actually a Japanese game!!! So I don't know, Europe always gets the same as US, so I don't see any reason, why would they give us Kikuchi, as it didn't happened 6 times before.

Because they didn't just say it, they showed it at Japan Expo. That at least gives it a fighting chance.MCDaveG wrote:I had the hope for Kikuchi as in Gundam, there is original music... then I've realized that it's actually a Japanese game!!! I'm not the only one that does. Look around the forum and even on Youtube. Battle of Z is not very popular amongst the fanbase.GogetaSSJ2 wrote:Ok we get it. You hate the game. Would you please stop making it obvious?TheMightyOzaru wrote:How much do you want to bet Namco is gonna blame DBZ fans for being too picky when they don't buy this game?
Ok, seriously? We cannot forgive them for lacking in game transformations. Budokai Tenkaichi didn't get away with it and neither will this game. Furthermore, it was confirmed by Namco Bandai that you had to play in a 4 v 4 set up. The 1 v 1s are gone. Please don't start with this "you haven't played it so don't talk" crap. You've seen the control lay out, there is only one melee option. Even people who looked like they knew what they were doing were only able to do one freaking combo. I would also like to point out that local multiplayer SHOULD be an OPTION. Some people, such as myself, are willing to put up with a split screen.Rukura wrote:DBZGTKOSDH wrote:

- Game-play doesn't look good.
- Alternatives include a very restrictive split-screen, Playstation TV's 3D feature (who even has one?) or keeping all players on screen at the same time, having to keep up in a "mile away" view. Pick your poison.
- I seriously doubt that. Besides, I'm pretty sure that's not how it's intended when they say "UP TO 4 players".
- Which can be forgiven this one time if the game turns out to be GOOD, and be so both off and online.
- If you're a really hardcore Chaozu fan.
- Not really, but I'm not sold on the character models either.
- Played by people getting their hands on it for the first time, even Jojo ASB looked bad. I'm not saying it looks like an amazing game (which it certainly doesn't) but it seems like people wanna kill this off for superficial reasons. We wanted something new, by someone other than Spike. Isn't this the part where we let them do their thing and judge when it's done?

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I can understand it since the game plays only 4 vs 4. But if we could play 1 vs 1 (and we should), then the split screen for this would be fine. We should have split screen for 1 vs 1 only, like in the Sparking!/Raging/Ultimate Blast series.Rukura wrote:Alternatives include a very restrictive split-screen, Playstation TV's 3D feature (who even has one?) or keeping all players on screen at the same time, having to keep up in a "mile away" view. They said that only 4 vs 4 is possible. I hope they gave false information.I seriously doubt that. Besides, I'm pretty sure that's not how it's intended when they say "UP TO 4 players".
It is unforgivable, because not only it's an iconic feature in the series, but we could transform for 12 years now, and they took out this feature. Though I'm sure we will get it back in the sequels.Which can be forgiven this one time if the game turns out to be GOOD, and be so both off and online.
I can forgive them for not having characters like Chaozu, Zarbon, or Super Saiyan 4 Goku, since this is their first game.If you're a really hardcore Chaozu fan.

Agreed. I won't judge the game-play until I play it myself.Played by people getting their hands on it for the first time, even Jojo ASB looked bad. Shinobi SS Goku & SS Bardock are OK for DLC characters. Super Vegetto is the stupid choice, because not only we had him in almost every console game of the PS2 era+, but he is not even the strongest character in the game anymore (SSG Goku, Beers, and Whis are stronger).MCDaveG wrote:+ rudiculous pre-order DLC, which we don't have guarantee to get later if the game flops....
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Now it answered the question itself. In Japanese version..... So no Kikuchi and I'm willing to bet on it.JeffJarrett wrote:They showed the Japanese version at Japan Expo, the text was in Japanese.Rukura wrote:Because they didn't just say it, they showed it at Japan Expo. I don't know, but I think that excluding something and waiting for sequels to get it is kinda weird. In that case, I won't buy this game and wait for sequel to get what I want, which creates kinda of paradox if everyone is thinking like that.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:I can forgive them for not having characters like Chaozu, Zarbon, or Super Saiyan 4 Goku, since this is their first game.If you're a really hardcore Chaozu fan.

K coming in a bit late on this. Seems all of a sudden people are interested in this topic again and it's just exploding with new posts but I heard there were no transformations...So I am reeeeeaaaally hoping that is a joke. Why do they feel the need to do this. It's like they have to even it out. NB: "Okay okay we're gonna do something awesome this time around. 4v4s online multiplayer
with alt costumes a new developer, everything
however we HAVE to even that out by taking away transformations for no reason, make sure there can be only 4v4s, no offline multiplayer, and take the graphics down 10 notches. Now this is a game! They'll love this."

I think the DLC should be new transformations (SSJ3 Future Trunks, SSJ3 Vegeta, etc) or new characters (for example, new gods from Battle of Gods 2)

I noticed this the day the first trailer came out,I pointed it out on this forumThe beams like Kamehame-Ha do have bad animation and don't last long.
Someone hit me up when Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, Chiaotzu
, Goten, Buu, and Gohan
become relevant again

I've honestly never played a game by ARTDINK but they seem to be another kind of developer like Spike which isn't good news but at least Spike by the third game they got it right, maybe that's how many tries it'll take for them to make it semi-flawless. Although, for a game that's in development from 2011-2014 it shouldn't take three games to get it done properly.supersaiyan DbZ fan wrote:I noticed this the day the first trailer came out,I pointed it out on this forum

. And I agree it looks fake, generic, short and lacks impact and it seems as if you can't even charge it up, that's the reason why I play these games!!!! (To CHARGE up a KAMEHAMEHA!!!)
Anyway, I'm more excited for Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers and J-Stars Victory Vs (sadly no EU/US release

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
From what I saw and played, their developing history is indeed simmilar to Spike. They create one working model for a franchise, like The Gundam series and A-Train series and all sequels are based on the same model, but with some enhancements like more robots/trains, options or better graphics, but gameplay and the core is the same. Like Spike with Sparking and Blast series.
Or Tecmo-KOEI, but that's different and more rudiculous story maybe, does the Dynasty Warrios genre still being that popular? I played 4! games (Dynasty Warriors 6, Samurai Warriors 2, Warriors Orochi 2 and Gundam 3) and I have feeling that I played the same thing 4 times and really don't wanna play any other installment.

I understand, that I can't judge something before I try it, but there is this formula based on experience from past. I've played 5 games from Art Dink and they are studio not different from Spike when working on some series of titles.
Nothing outstanding, only average product based on popular franchise to milk some money not by great gameplay, but by the name.
I too hope, that all the cons will be repaired or rather, the pros will be bigger to take out the cons.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
A sequel that brings back split screen, better graphics and transformations is only going to happen if that sequel is on a next-gen system.
The current gen doesn't have the ability to display 4 VS 4 battles with those specifications - which is exactly why they had to sacrifice them for their concept.
So if you want these problems to be solved, you have to wait for either a sequel to Battle of Z on the next-gen, or a new series with a new gameplay/concept on the current gen.
But a Battle of Z 2 on the current gen would likely not solve any of the currently unpopular issues, except maybe allowing "1 on 1" split screen battles which is something actually possible on the current gen.

Which is why I think this would be a great opurtunity to start releasing games on the PC. On pc most people won't care if it doesn't have Spit-screen or not.Cold Skin wrote:A sequel that brings back split screen, better graphics and transformations is only going to happen if that sequel is on a next-gen system.

And that model looks just as good as anything else that's shown up this gen. The only problems I see, comparing it to previous DB games this gen, is the texture detail for the lines is a little low. But the model itself is fine. If it's the clipping, well, that happens all the time.McDaveG wrote:From what I saw and played, their developing history is indeed simmilar to Spike.

I don't have any real problem with the models considering the conscessions for the 4v4, but almost all the characters are too stocky and their feet are not only HUGE, but positioned like robots, not humans. lolHaseowolf wrote:And that model looks just as good as anything else that's shown up this gen.
