If you are from Toei, what should you do in DB anniversary?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

They could be working on a movie as we speak. I think we should hear something by early next year.
If it's due out next year for the anniversary (2014) then it would have been announced by now, or at the latest before the end of the year. Toei like to build up as much anticipation as possible, and if they were going to release something so big next year, they'd already be talking about it. Moreover, the dust has barely settled from Battle of Gods.

If current trends regarding One Piece are to be observed, then Toei are currently spacing out their big theatrical efforts by two or three years. Strong World was the end of 2009, Film Z was the end of 2012, with no follow-up yet to be announced. Battle of Gods was only released in March of this year, and as such is their latest theatrical release.

In short, I'll eat my pants if they release another film next year. We're looking at 2015 at the earliest, but most likely Spring 2016.

For the 30th Anniversary, I want a new video game, and a new FUNi home release. We never get these, so here is a chance for that.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

A new remake with some of my ideas whould be a better way to celebrate the anniversary then a new movie in my oppinion, they could cancel Kai to invest all the money in this new remake.

They might have it out by December 2014 to be release closer to the manga's original release date. Toei seems to make things quick and can easily market things. Look at the Kamen Rider movies that usually come out during the winter.

A full-length DB XXX film. The NA release will come with a box of tissues so you can do what Funimation's been doing to the franchise for decades.

No, wait. Then it would be a snuff film.

Would answer the question of whether or not Saiyan pubic hair would turn blonde too.

Taking into account all that has been done? Probably nothing because a manga anniversary is irrelevant to Toei. Dragon Ball on Blu-ray is the next logical step.

If I'm Shueisha, I'd hurry it up with the physical color release of the rest of the series.

All the newly reanimated series wishes are WAY too good to be true...will NOT happen. Stop getting hopes up or you'll be disappointed later.

Your gimmick is to bash the dub, leave the perverted stuff to Scarz.

Hey, I can do both! I'm versatile.

Well, on a relevant topic, I think Buu Saga Kai will probably be released for the anniversary.

Dragon Ball Z turns 25 next year, though.

Given that they went to all of the effort of restoring and rehashing the material for Kai for the 20th to a disappointing financial return, I wouldn't expect anything so grandiose so relatively soon afterward with Kai both still fresh in the mind and (apparently) still in production.

I don't think it's impossible. Dragon Ball had a large 2000s resurgence that it's still going through. Let it rest and leave the masses' minds for awhile. Plenty of the other franchises have had reboots over time.

Of course I mean time time, like, thirty years.

I think a 40 - 60 episode series would be good for a new series. The short the better is always good in my opinion and we can get a new show once every few years if a new series does well with toy sales and ratings.

For the 30th anniversary I would do this:
-Anime expanding the saga that began in Battle of Gods
-Videogame (well, Battle of Z do this job)
-OVA for Dragon Ball, i mean, a new adventure for child Goku
-Manga for ending the history of Dragon Ball Online
-Special set for Dragon Ball Heroes
-Something similar to Animatrix with short stories telling adventures of characters as Paikkuhan, Tapion, Future Trunks, Tarble
