DBGT TV Special Opinion/Question
What did you think of the T.V. special A Hero's Legacy? I personally thought it was great, and better executed than GT. Also, I'm confused about the ending. How did Puck survive?

Re: DBGT:A Hero's Legacy Opinion/Question
Puck lived because either Shenlong was feeling nice that day or...just because he's a secret relative to Satan Mark.
The plot of Hero Legacy was great. Better than most of GT. Should of been what GT was in the first place or the next arc after Bebi.

Re: DBGT:A Hero's Legacy Opinion/Question
It makes me fall a sleep, but part of it's the motion blur. With that said, I thought it was okay but nothing great. It also doesn't help with the confusion of what happens to Goku in the final episodes. Like, at all.
I've always wished that Toei would remake GT and not pull a JJ Abrams with the ending.

Likewise, we got the GT Revised thread and Devil Corpse's Redux project that make some awesome changes to GT and make it sound even better than Z in some respects.Rukura wrote:It makes me fall a sleep, but part of it's the motion blur. A Hero's Legacy was made AFTER the Bebi Arc not after Shenlong Arc. So Goku haven't left yetRukura wrote:It makes me fall a sleep, but part of it's the motion blur. It should have been the first episode of GT.

Re: DBGT:A Hero's Legacy Opinion/Question
I watch it as part of the epilogue of the Evil Dragon arc. I quite enjoy it, maybe as not as much as the Evil Dragon arc or maybe the Bebi arc but it fits into the conclusion rather nicely.
That's part of the reason why the ending worked so well though. I like that the ending is up for interpretation.I've always wished that Toei would remake GT and not pull a JJ Abrams with the ending.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

You can't write about something that happened 100 years after the finale without knowing what the finale is. When it was animated and shown is separate from that point.TheGmGoken wrote:A Hero's Legacy was made AFTER the Bebi Arc not after Shenlong Arc. True, and I will admit to liking it. But it always feels like it was open-ended for the sake of being open-ended because they couldn't come up with a better ending. Maybe that's why we're always trying to crack it, in the hope that there's something better underneath xpDBZ Mick wrote:That's part of the reason why the ending worked so well though. What I'm saying is. Goku didn't fly away with Shenlong when this film was made. Unless they always have it planned out then Goku most likely just died. You can't write about something that happened 100 years after the finale without knowing what the finale is. When it was animated and shown is separate from that point.

We saw her at the end of DB(Z) and she was a much better character there than in all of GT.TheGmGoken wrote:But then we would have no idea about Pan's characterMarco Polo wrote:It should have been the first episode of GT.
Re: DBGT TV Special Opinion/Question
The best part of GT. Other than that major plothole you mentioned(Seriously, are we supposed to believe that Goku Jr. somehow just made the wish because he believed hard enough?), it's really good. If GT was about Goku Jr. coming of age and going on new adventures like this movie does, GT may have lasted more than 64 episodes. I would recommend this to any fan of DB, even if they don't like GT to begin with.
Re: DBGT TV Special Opinion/Question
To be honest I was terribly bored both times I've watched it. It is short so maybe I'll give it a third chance, but I won't be expecting much. No matter how many times I watch it though I am certain I will always think Goku Jr.'s Super Saiyan transformation is TERRIBLE.
Re: DBGT TV Special Opinion/Question
Enjoyed watching how Goku Jr. grew as a character. Couple of things that didn't make sense, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

Re: DBGT:A Hero's Legacy Opinion/Question
The very fact that he is able to show up over a hundred years in the future as an adult in such an enigmatic way (without a halo) serves to suggest that he didn't die, but his departure with Shenron has elevated him to some magical form of existence.Rukura wrote:It also doesn't help with the confusion of what happens to Goku in the final episodes. I mean, I accept that the special doesn't provide any specific explanations, but it's at least consistent with the series ending - which is more than you can say for most things in GT.

It is, I can't believe any Saiyans ever managed to NOT go Super Saiyan.CODii wrote:To be honest I was terribly bored both times I've watched it. Re: DBGT TV Special Opinion/Question
This. One of my favorite scenes in the franchise is in this special (When Goku Jr. Meets Goku), but I've only seen that scene and the first half of the special. Every time I try to watch, I fall asleep by the time Jr. And Puck enter the forest. :pCODii wrote:To be honest I was terribly bored both times I've watched it. The only good thing about the special is that it has stereo audio on the GT DBox.

Re: DBGT TV Special Opinion/Question
The one thing that always bothered me about the TV special is that Goku Jr. is Pan's great-great grandson. Where the hell did 3 generations go? It's a lot easier to accept that Goku Jr is Goku's great-great grandson and thus Pan's grandson, like it says in the dub I think, where there's only one generation missing. But three? Super Saiyan logic has always been inconsistent and the ending is ambiguous on purpose. Goku's just kind of everywhere. But I can't overlook such a huge commonsense plot point that doesn't really get explained.

Re: DBGT TV Special Opinion/Question
I thought it was a pretty good and honest special. It felt like the writers actually put forth effort into it unlike with GT (Goku Time).
