To be honest, what I prefer about the DBZ in its original style is the way it's drawn, unfortunately, in the new style we get characters looking all plastic-like and really static and unrealistic, it looks like the characters are straight off the cover of a PS3 game, or a magazine cover, laminated and shining way too much, and not to mention the way Toriyama drew his characters is in the distant past, these new drawings just make DB look too different, at least in the original anime the artists did more or less make it look exactly how the manga looked, minus a few cheep studios like triangle crap.
But on the flip side, a new series would be nice, because there's something about seeing Ki blasts being fired... the way anime is produced nowadays looks so fluid, and that's one thing DBZ is about, speed and fast paced action, and this is one of the things the new animation triumphs over the old with, the fights have the potential to look blinding, some of the fights in DBZ would look incredible in new animation, the Freeza battle, redrawn and removed of its filler would be a awesome, well, pretty much every fight would, I guess it's a long shot, and I thought I was hooked on the old score used throughout DB/Z, but the score in new movie does sound really fresh and I liked it very much, so it would be possible to have a new series, that looks fresh and if done properly, would really work.
