So that's not really anything to spin on the Dragon Boxes in any way, positively or negatively. It just "is".
I see your point, but I also think that give what Dragon Box 1 and 2 contain,
is the only reason why they are so scarce, rather than people wanting "the Dragon Box experience." ie the Funimation singles cover 4:3 footage with Japanese Audio and Faulconer music after Ginyu Assault whereas the singles for those disks prior to "Assault" are only the edited Ocean group (I know you know this because your website told me lol I am just explaining so other users who wish to comment have context).
So in order to get 4:3 footage with Japanese Audio and English Audio one must have Dragon Box 1 and 2 that covers the Saiyan and Namek Arcs at least up through the Ginyu fight which is ONLY a possibility from the Dragon Boxes.
Without those either Dragon Box 1 or Dragon Box 2 in order to get the proper dub (read as Japanese audio) and proper 4:3 footage fans MUST settle for only 34 episodes in the level sets and then skip to season 2 of the cropped orange bricks... and that right there leaves out 5 episodes.
In essence, the only way to get the proper Japanese Dub with the Proper 4:3 aspect ratio was the Dragon Box 1 and 2 otherwise you get a crop or are limited episode count in 4:3 with an edited American dub.
Given this limited ability to watch the series it makes sense to me that is why the sold out and are so scarce rather than wanting the "Dragon Box experience" because then the same problem would or should be met with all the boxes.
Basically I am noting that the reason Dragon Box 1 and 2 sold better is becuase of what they are and the latter ones are still obtainable because either (1) the later boxes are more numerous or (2) people did not wanting to re-buy the singles because they have the latter arc already with Japanese Audio and 4:3 footage...
And that right there is again my point...
it was not the "dragon box experience" that forced the demand it was the limited ability to view the show properly. The singles exist with Japanese audio so the dragon boxes are not needed for those arcs, but they ARE needed for the Saiyan and Namek arcs.
You get what I'm saying cuz in my head it makes sense lol? I know it was long winded, but I care more that my point is understood and less that it is agreed with.
