They should totally recolor SSJ Gohan's hair black.

So does this mean that GT is going to become "canon" because it's based off its comic/manga?

This makes no sense. 'Canon' to what? Dragon Ball GT cannot happen where it is not a part of another work. Dragon Ball GT happens where it happens, that is not the 1984 comic, the 1986 TV series, Dragon Ball Z, or Dragon Ball Kai.

So they're doing an anime comic of a 17 year old anime that everyone has already seen and nobody really likes?

Utterly pointless.

France released their own "comic versions" in magazines before.

This isn't a manga, it's screening straight from the anime with speech bubbles in the form of a comic. All of the 18 movies, the 3 TV Specials, and the whole DBZ anime.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I'm strangely interested in this. A GT anime comic makes much more sense, since it wasn't a comic in the first place. With this, one can have the original 42 volumes...and this to put right next to it. And Jaco. And Nekomajin. And the Bardock anime comic. And anything else that anyone considers their "fanon".

Not "everyone" has seen it. There is a whole new generation of young fans who have been exposed to DB Kai, DB Heroes, video games and stuff and who may have never watched DB GT because they weren't even born back then.

I wonder if things will be changed because of BOG or if they use this to call it an alternate future? Dunno xD

There is nothing in Battle of Gods that either supports or discredits GT in any significant way. Anything you can think of can easily be explained as off-camera events, and are just minor footnotes in the grand scheme of things.

Except for the whole Goku keeping the God power up thing. That makes it hard to transition into GT seeing as how Uub is matching Goku. I also have a hard time believing a super 17 can match a "SSJ4 God" if you will. Honestly, multiverses are a lot easier to accept.

I was thinking the whole SSJ God thing (especially at the end of GT) where it could have been used.

What? No, this isn't a manga. It's a book of screen shots with word bubbles. You either consider DBGT canon or not, it's up to you. This really shouldn't change anything.

If they were going to make a serious manga to GT, they should have Toyble do it. Its clear his work is amazing with the Heroes manga.

I think this is actually a pretty cool idea. Especially with all the GT tie-ins with Heroes as Mike mentioned. It's definitely not a world changing event but it's a fun little experiment. I mean heck is not like they could manage to make most of GT any less enjoyable no matter what medium they change it to!

Gohan can still go Mystic in the movie while he can't in GT. He fought Rildo in his base form and never went any higher then normal SSj in the show. If he went Mystic against Bebi Goten or Rildo then he would won the fight a lot faster.

Doesnt GT still air on TV time to time for them to watch? This site seems to indicate that GT is currently being aired weekly right now.

So then Gohan lost that ability sometime after the events of BoG. I hardly see how that is a significantly worse contradiction than what we had to deal with before. Remember Pan hasn't even been born yet in BoG. There's plenty of time between then and the start of GT for Gohan to lose it. I don't want to hijack this thread with an in-universe discussion but you're really not making Mike's point any less valid.

Think of it this way. Whether you like GT or not, it is clear with how much GT has been showing up in Heroes that Toei has a lot at stake with the series. They would have been spring themselves in the foot if they had anything in BoG invalidate GT when they're simultaneously trying to pink GT in Heroes. Toei may not always openly embrace GT but I doubt we will ever see them outright discredit the series either.
