Yeah, I always thought it was kind of scary too. Goku is so pale, there's that blood red filtering, and it's so heavily detailed, that it actually looks shockingly similar to how a dead person looks (which I've seen before at my Grandpa's funeral).

Maybe it's my phone screen but for a moment there it looked like Goku's eyes were wide open and he didn't have any pupils. So my reaction to that image at first was "Holy shit! That's some scary fan art!" Can anyone else see that or is it me?

Ear isn't big. Measure it. The top part of the ear measures to just above the eyebrow and the bottom is level to right under the nose.
The same for MOST people. Even checked it on myself. Perfectly sized ear.
You're simply being tricked by perspective.

Only really similar in that they're high detail shots.

There are tons throughout the series, and many older anime in general.
