Can Korin survive for years without food in the manga?

In the anime, FUNimation dub, Korin said that he hasn't eaten in 5 years, after which he eats a skinny piece of fish and then gives Goku a senzu bean. Is this just a dub line or does this really happen in the manga? This would mean that Korin can survive without food for years. I wonder if the same is true for Popo and are there any other characters that can survive without food for prolonged periods of time except for Frieza or Cell? Frieza was floating around in space for a year. Perfect Cell, we could assume he can too, having Frieza's cells.

That line is not in the manga, no. And what's this about Freeza floating through space for a year? I assume he was found rather quickly and it took nearly two years to rebuild him and put him through physical therapy.

Karin is a deity, so I assume he can survive more than any mortal man. That's just conjecture though, he might need food at a regular basis.
